QuakeHOLD! Museum Putty helps secure vases, ceramics, figurines, collectibles, antiques, and other treasured decor from shifting, tipping, or falling during earthquakes, bumps, and everyday vibration. The removable and reusable formula is designed for use on dry, non-porous surfaces including wood, glass, metal, ceramic, laminate, and sealed surfaces. Its neutral/creme color blends discreetly beneath most display items, making it ideal for shelves, mantels, cabinets, desks, and display cases. QuakeHOLD! Museum Putty is ready to use and helps keep valuables in place without screws, nails, or permanent mounting hardware. Do not use to hang pictures, frames, shelves, or any items from walls, ceilings, or vertical surfaces.

Each package contains 75 g of QuakeHOLD! Museum Putty. The package's estimate of securing up to 40 items is based on typical use with small household objects. As noted in the instructions, the amount of putty needed will vary depending on the item's size, weight, shape, and base. For larger or heavier items, more putty may be required, so the actual number of items secured may vary.
The QuakeHOLD! Museum Putty is designed for use on dry, non-porous surfaces including wood, glass, metal, ceramic, laminate, and sealed surfaces. Because flat paint can absorb oils and residues more readily than sealed or glossy surfaces, we cannot guarantee that Museum Putty will not leave marks, discoloration, or changes to the finish.
The QuakeHOLD! Museum Putty is not designed to keep a tension shower curtain rod stay in place. It is designed to keep objects from sliding, tipping, or falling off tables, countertops, cabinets, and storage shelves by creating a removable, reusable grip between surfaces. It helps keep items upright and stable on many waterproof surfaces and is commonly used to secure collectibles, antiques, decorations, and other household items.
Further, a 5 foot tall floor lamp will have a lot of leverage if force is applied at the top of the lamp. Applying putty will help to stabilize the lamp, but not fully protect against tip over if force is applied toward the top of the lamp.
It depends on how often the objects would be moved. The putty is meant to be reapplied every 3-6 months where the wax can be left for long periods of time. The putty might be a better bet if the mantle gets hot since the wax can loosen up due to heat (it is a type of wax so heat does affect it). They both hold the same amount of weight, about 40 pounds. Please test it out before using, as there is a possibility it will leave a stain on a porous surface.
If the clay is unsealed, it may stain. You can test it and see if it works for your application.
Yes it will stick to hard, dried resin. It will not stick to liquid resin.
No the putty is not designed for hanging lights and does not bond well with stucco. It is only recommended for flat surfaces.
