Joist hangers are designed to provide support underneath the joist, rafter or beam to provide a strong a connection. Simpson Strong-Tie offers a diverse line of hangers to handle almost any application with top flange, concealed flange and field-skewable and slopeable options. The LUS is an easy-to-install, economical hanger designed for common lumber sizes. This widely used hanger features double-shear nailing that distributes the load through two points on each joist nail for greater strength. This allows for fewer nails, faster installation and the use of all common nails for the same connection.

How much weight is each bracket designed to hold over a ten foot span (2x6)

The allowable load we list for the LUS26 would be the following; uplift 1,000; floor 745; snow 850; roof 910. Can these be used to attach joists to the face of a concrete block wall?

A wood to concrete block wall installation is not something that Simpson would have information or data to support. Can they be used for pressure treated wood?
Hi Ronald, this is Lexus from Simpson Strong-Tie. The better option to consider would be our LUS26Z which is made of Z MAX. Please keep in mind the LUS26Z can be used with some pressure treated wood, but depending on what type it may not be. Below I have our corrosion guidelines. Please get with your designer to determine if Z max is adequate enough for your application. Can screws be used instead of nails? Such as #9 x 1-1/2 in. 1/4-Hex Drive, Strong-Drive SD Connector Screw?

You will need to use (4) of our #9 1.5" (SD9112) in the face flanges, and (2) of our #9 2 1/2" (SD9212) into the carried joist. One of the photos has 8 holes and the other has 6 holes. Which one is it?

This requires 4 each 0.148"x3" (10d) face nails (two on each flange) to fasten into a header. And 2 each 0.148"x3" (10d) face nails (one on each flange) to fasten diagonally through the joist into the header. Any other holes are required for production and are not for fasteners. How tall are the voice hangers for the 2x6 are the voice hanger more then 4"

Can these be used for angled connections, like deck stairs, or only for 90� connections?
Good morning Evan, this is McKenzie with Simpson Strong-Tie. The LUS series cannot be skewed or sloped. We do have other hangers that can be made at a skew or slope and even stock some skewed at 45 degrees and have some that are field adjustable. Depending on your application and demand loads you might be able to look at some of the following series; LRU, LSSR, LSSJ, SUR/L. Any of those can be searched on Strongtie.com.
