I would go with Gilbert rg6 compression fittings, but the ones you purchased should compress fine as the circumference of most rg6 compression fittings are the same.
I li e the tools already used them over 100 times and steal going strong
I had the same problem I had thought I was using the wrong connector it's going to be a tight fit because in the connector there is a sleeve that goes in to the cord when get it in you will have no problems.
The Klein Tools Compression Crimper included in this kit is designed for use with Klein Tools connectors and is not adjustable. Other brands’ connectors may work, but the recommended connectors are Klein Tools model # VDV812-606 or VDV812-623.
Hello, I personally don’t like the Ordeal connectors but that’s another story altogether. I purchased the Klein universal F compression connectors model # VDV812-612 this is a 50 piece pack but I use them all the time. I like the long shank on the connectors and I have yet to have one fail. Now understand this is my own personal assessment and I definitely know other opinions are out there but these work great with this tool and are a very good connectors. I hope this helps you.
The included crimping tool is not adjustable.
No
Sorry the compression tool is not adjustable..
No
No, it is preset for press/pinch on terminals.
Klein Tools, I am not sure what you mean by "Not fully inserting the Cable into the connector before placing the combination in the compression crimper". I inserted the stripped cable as far as I could where the foam insulator presses against the internal wall of the connector. The assembly fits within the crimper and I depress the handles of the crimper until I heard the "ratcheting" sound. I can not think there is anymore to this process. I performed a crimp today and when I tested the cable it showed an Open. I used a regular crimp connector with a crimping tool and that worked phenomenally. I am knowledgeable with crimping many different types of connectors but I am not sold on the "compression" types at this point.
Warmman, I am using Southwire RG6 cable. the package says that it is "Type CM/CL2, CATV/MATV - White 18 AWG, I have never seen cable that is larger than this and it is certainly larger than the old RG59. The connectors provided with the kit say they do both RG6 and RG6Q. Should be good to go.
No, you wouldn't want to anyway. You can potential cause noise on your line.
The crimping process engages the inside of the connector to attach it to the cable. If the connector has been crimped with the crimping tool, it cannot be reused. Based on your description it seems the cable was not fully inserted into the connector prior to the initial crimp and the connector did not properly engage the cable.
the Klein cable tool is designed to work with the larger diameter cable typical of the type the cable companies use. If the connector is coming off easily then the diameter is too small. use the larger diameter cable. Klein may make a connector for the smaller diameter cable. When using the striper make sure that the copper extends to end of the cable before striping or cut an inch off to be sure. Also when inserting the cable into the stripper make sure the black end of the tool is depressed fully in and insert the cable all the way in until it hits the other side, slide back the black door to be sure it is fully inserted. In my experience you cannot reuse the connectors once the have been installed using the compression tool.
Id the RG59 connectors are press on/pinch type. If the fittings need to be squashed around the cable then they will not work with this compression tool. 6 of the correct fittings are included in this kit.
Haven't personally tried, but according to instructions on box it can be used for several types?
Yes
Yup.
Yup. Tight though.
No, only with standard audio/video coaxial connectors
No, not with RG59 Connectors
Yes, but they must be the correct size (length) for the compression cam to properly work. I machined another piece to fit Raychem F connectors.
Yes, the Crimper crimps compression F-Connectors to RG59, RG6 and RG6-Quadshield coaxial cable.
Yes, the compression tool works on RG59/RG6 and RG6Q F connectors.
Yes. Just tighter sliding into the connector.
Yes it works with quad shielded cable.
yes, without a problem
Yes. It works perfectly
Yes, the universal connectors in this kit work very well with RG6Q (quad) shielded cable. The crimper also works well with those connectors.
