And screwing them unto the old case.
Asked by: Jarnix
Yes. but my experience is that this brand is not so reliable. Since your question is quite old, I imagine you've figured out what to do.

Can i use the top part to replace Richdel 204 Top piece

No, the valve cover and the internal parts are all totally different. You may want to look at the Irritrol model 205T series for the older Richdel 204 valve.

I bought this to replace an identical one that had developed a slow leak, and I thought I could save time by just buying the whole thing rather than replacing parts etc. After a long search I found this online at Home Depot and installed it. It also had a slow leak. I disassembled it, cleaned the internal seals and diaphram, etc. Now it works. I would not buy this brand again, even though the previous valve worked for 15 years before starting to leak (so I give it "fair").

Rated 1 out of 5 by from replaced 2 twice each year The all plastic Lawn Genie electric valve has failed me 4 times, two locations they last one season this is the second season and they have failed again. Tested positive electrical signal but no valve response after sitting out the winter in boxes below grade and in an area where it does not freeze. I need to change product but can not find any reviews nor recommendations.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Electric Values Every year I have to replace 3 out of 5 electric valves. I would think Lawn Genie would address this problem or maybe they know they have a problem and know that you will be buying new electric valves WHAT DO YOU THINK?????!!!!!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Don't waste your money Put in 12 of these on a system a few years back. Have had nothing but problems-bad solenoids, won't shut off, screw threads stripped out on the valve body, etc. Have two other systems on houses I own, NO ISSUES whatsoever. Lawn Genie valves on one, Hunter on the other. They've been in the ground about twice as long as these orbits. Will never use another orbit product as long as I live. It's just not quality stuff and it's not cheap enough to warrant even trying their junk.

The first one failed after a couple of years, Then the replacement would not shut off at all. Spent two hours going through torublshooting. Based on that, I'd say stay away from these they seem to fail much more than the others. The customer service not available on Saturday (really who calls during business hours!), and they allowed me to type a complete chat before telling me they weren't home . I guess the cheap ones are cheap for a reason. Have bought lots in the past, but will switch to another company for all new purchases.

Replaced the innards of my existing valve with the matching parts of this valve. The process went smoothly and the valve now works correctly. Glad I didn't have to replace the body too. I'm also hopeful that the manufacturer will continue to make these since I have six of them in my system.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great value for the $$!! I installed 11 of these valves into my sprinkler system in 1996 when I switched it from manual to automatic operation. They have functioned with minimal issue until recently where I have had to either repair or replace 1 or 2 of them. I highly recommend purchasing and using these valves! By the way, contrary to another post here, the Lawn Genie store sells these for twice the cost as HD!
