"Stainable" is subjective
This plywood claims to be stainable. However, just because something can be stained does not mean it is acceptable. After trusting that this was a quality product, we bought 12 sheets of 3/4" 4x8 panels and built our entire master closet. Once built, we tested a sample piece and it turns out the way the wood is cut leaves multiple dark and light lines after it is sanded, cleaned and even pre-treated. We are seriously disappointed that we wasted so much time, effort and money on this product.

Patches, Voids, Caulk Filled & Internal Strings
    1) Square patches are used to fill surface voids. 2) Cracks and knots on both front and back surfaces are filled with wood putty/caulk everywhere. 3) Substantial internal voids that reveal themselves only after making cuts. 4) Large strips and strands of nylon fabric were glued in-between the plies, the largest of which locked up my circular saw during a cut! Worst plywood I've ever purchased in 58 years, and it’s supposed to be B grade. Does not meet my expectations. See the photos.

      Price doubled, quality dropped
I have used this product for a long time. It was a 7 ply, now only 5 ply. There are so many voids that collapse when a screw is inserted, or sometimes along a cut line so that the voids are exposed. I am currently building shelving units for a hobby room, and I am embarrassed by the quality of the work because of this plywood. I am doing extra work to finish the edges more robustly and it will work out, but that should not have been necessary.

        Works great for most projects
Due to cyclical shortages I've had to purchase this product several times in the last few months, and I have to say, it's performed well on all of my projects. I've primarily used it for cabinet carcasses and drawers, but I may use it for other projects as well. I've experienced very few voids and it holds screws well. I'd recommend it!

using this for a speaker cabinet.. its really not what that is. as for smoothness i have some MDF that is definitely smoother to thw touch. now if you plan to finish it. it'll look great. its not heavy in weight by any means the baltic birch def weighs more so for shelves or things that will hang from walls this is the way to go. structurally if you reinforce with bracing of sorts you can use it for heavier loads as well ** customer provided wood **

I would use it again BUT
For garage cabinets so I used pocket screws, it took me a while to dial in screw depth using Kreg jig, it's not actual 3/4 plywood. used 1 1/4 pocket screw on just over 5/8 setting due to the plywood HAS VERY SOFT CENTER don't over torque. no 1" screws

Worked great for a climbing wall!
I used two sheets of this plywood to make an indoor climbing wall for my kids. After cutting them down to the size pieces I wanted, I sanded and painted them before installing the mounting hardware. My kids (5 and 2) love it!

                Lightweight but strong
Horrible dog poop smell once cut , but it's the lower price option for Cabinet Grade Plywood for my business, DW's Custom Closets. Once you cut againt the grain, You will have to do some sanding. March 2020 , I use to pay $32 , now it is $59 .. Ridiculous

                  Perfect for a custom closet
I used this plywood to build the cabinets for a custom closet and was very happy with the results. The finish was smooth and consistent, it looked great after painting. If you're looking for plywood to paint, I would highly recommend this product. If you're looking to display the wood grain you will probably be disappointed in this product.
