              ByApr 24, 2026
              1 Answer |
              Answer This Question

We recommend using lime until your desired pH level has been reached. We recommend applying the lime and then waiting a couple of weeks before testing your soil. If the number starts trending down, wait a couple more weeks and test again to see if another application is necessary.

EARTH SCIENCE 2.5 LBS. 500 SQ. FT. FAST ACTING LIME WITH NUTRI-BOND is an excellent way to increase the PH in your soil to better accommodate your plants. Once you test your soil and are aware of the need for a higher PH just sprinkle this on the ground surrounding your plant and rake lightly to incorporate it into the soil. Water thoroughly and wait for you plants to reward you with new growth.

The EARTH SCIENCE 2.5 lbs. 500 sq. ft. Fast Acting Lime with Nutri-Bond is also one of the additions to my garden setup. Lime helps to balance out the PH of any soil so all plants grow to the best of their ability. You almost cannot put too much lime on your garden or lawn. This lime is also fast acting with Nutri-Bond. I recommend this lime to all gardeners.

The Earth Science fast acting lime with Nutri-Bond is supposed to be fast acting and accelerated when watered. I applied the granules in my garden at night just before it was to start to rain. It rained all night and I thought the granules would have either disintegrated or at least partially disintegrated, but as you can see in the pictures it seems the rain had no effect.

Hi there. It can take up to 2 to 3 weeks for the pellets to break down completely, depending on conditions. Elemental sulfur is not water soluble. As the pellets breakdown they release sulfur which feeds the soil microbes. It is the byproducts from these microbes is what lowers the soil pH. The granules will begin to release sulfur as soon as they are watered but will continue to feed those microbes over an extended period, providing longer lasting results. Sta-GreenExpert

Excellent quality of fast acting lime. For shrubs, flowers and lawns for which the soil’s PH is too acidic, adding lime is the solution. While 2.5 pounds is not a lot, it is sufficient for 500 square feet of lawn and plenty of area for a flower bed. It is the flower bed shown in the photo that I used this product. I fully expect the soil to respond and be able to better absorb plant fertilizer and look forward to a vibrant flower bed during the spring.

Do test your soil’s pH level before using lime. My previous impression was that lime was unconditionally good for your lawn. Now I know lime raises your soil’s pH, making it more alkaline, so do research your trees and plants before applying lime to see which soil is preferred, alkaline or acidic. One of my findings was not to use lime on acid loving plants such as blueberries and azaleas. I applied this lime to the area surrounding my septic’s sprinklers to control odors and grow nicer grass. I read a comment elsewhere that this product wasn’t compatible with a spreader, but I had no problem using this in mine. Although it is a hard pellet, it easily passed through my spreader and wasn’t dusty.
