is this wood type a or type b MCA? One type contains boric acid and the other doesn't. Thinking of using the wood for vegetable garden beds.

      Answer This Question

This lumber is pressure-treated with Micronized Copper Azole (MCA). It does *not* contain boric acid. As always, it is recommended to create a barrier between the treated lumber and the soil using a liner.

Excellent for what I’m using it for, made my wife another raised garden bed 4’x 8’x 10” this is our four bed and I have a feeling there may be more in the future. Wood it pressure treated and made for ground contact, easy to cut and fasteners went in easy and held tight.

Straight, no warps or bows. Some knots as expected. Personally I don't like knots on the edge of material which can make drilling a pain, but I was able to cut round them. Worked out great. One split even with predrill but luckily it was workable.

Online said 100+ in stock went to the store and they had 14! I needed 45! The 14 that was there was either cracked/split halfway through the board, full of knots, or bowed/twisted so bad i dont know where or who would ever consider even using them. Lately any lumber from home depot has been horrible! Ive been using home depot for years and unless i have no other choice i will go to the local lumber yard guys just to make sure i have straight good wood that i dont have to fight with to get straight. Its just been horrible. God forbid you need something off one of the upper shelves... youll wait an hour for someone to get it down.
