    Answer This Question

A:  Really depends on what your work table is used for

    by|Feb 17, 2023

A:  If it is a vertical support it would probably be stiff enough depending how long it is. If it is a horizontal support you would get much better stiffness from a 2X4.

      by|Feb 20, 2023

        A:  I wouldn't it's kind of weak

        by|Feb 16, 2023

A:  I don't think it would be strong enough to support a work table.

                Not 2”
Even though the specification list the actual size is 2x2 it is actually 1 and 3/8. So, if you need 2” for say something like insulation board, this will not work. We all know a 2x4 isn’t actually 2x4 but it’s also not listed as actual size being 2x4. Annoyed since I now have to redo my layout and plans to accommodate the 165 I bought.

This wood was used for making my crafting loom. The texture and size was perfect. The nails I placed went into the wood with ease and locked in. The wood didn't splinter and is still smooth. I will be buying this wood for my next loom.

Discount lumber at its worst! I used curbside pick-up for an online order. BIG MISTAKE!!! They obviously use this method to dump all of their junk lumber. I ordered 35 of these. 2 of them had knots that went nearly all of the way through such that they broke before I could even get them out of my truck. Over 1/2 of the remaining 33 have either massive knots making large sections unusable, especially in 8' lengths, or multiple splits that you can see daylight through to the other side. A complete waste of money. And yes, over half - 22 of the 33 do not have 8' of usable board. I will be going to another lumber store for future purchases.

Very poor quality, one piece of lumber was actually unusable as an eight foot length due to a huge knot at the end. I sent an email to local manager and never heard back from him. I had just returned to Home Depot after being away from them for over a year due to a poor customer service experience. I don’t think I’ll be back.

                      warped and unusable
They gave me warped, unusable boards. Waste of time and money. Said they were the only ones they had. I paid online in advance so trying to get a refund during the covid mess would've taken way too long.

We recently got a load of 2x2's and they were terrible. We have ordered over $50,000 of lumber this this. Our Home Depot is the one in the Harahan Location and they give us the best lumber that they possibly can. The problem comes in when the Harahan location has my lumber yet it gets pulled from another location. This is absolutely ridiculous especially when my company is less than a mile away. We ship very high end pieces of furniture all around and we need quality lumber. Not a very happy customer. The Harahan location does a great job in meeting our needs but all of your stores should carry the same standards.
