These boards combine the highest grade available in the market with unsurpassed quality of finish, making them ideal for any interior application. These boards have no knots, so every part of the board is useable with no need for wasteful, annoying cutting, meaning great value for money. The knot-free surface allows for easy finishing, whether painting, staining or varnishing your project. Well known for its excellent workability, easy nailing, screwing, glue holding and superb paint finish. Sourced from commercially grown tree farms, these forests are FSC certified, meaning they are managed on a completely renewable basis.

A: Unfortunately this particular dimension (2x2) in this 'quality' is akin to gold, hence why it isn't stocked in every store. I live in a major metropolitan area (Tampa Bay) and even I can't find it every time I need it. Unless you're using it for fine woodworking I would recommend sandwiching two 1"x2"s with a good quality wood glue, which will also save you a few bucks. This is something I've done on many an occasion when have a seam was acceptable.

A: A general tip when it comes to lumber dimensions: the 'quoted dimensions' are from the original cut from the log. Actual dimensions for resawn/finished lumber will usually be 1/2" less all around. So this 2"x2" is actually 1.5"x1.5", a 4"x2" framing stud will be 3.5" x 1.5", etc.

A: The ones sold at my HD are exactly 1.5" x 1.5". However, 'whitewood' seems to differ a bit by region, so you'd do well to measure in-store anyway.

Overall the wood on the Home Depot shelfs was of good quality with no knots or major imperfections. However, it did take me a couple minutes sorting through the shelf to find four that were not warped. This was important to me as I was using it to make a coffe table. The wood I picked worked out perfect.
