2 in. x 3 in. x 8 ft. #2 Select Grade Dimensional Lumber

Ordered on line for curbside pick up. Really expected to get mostly twisted up low end boards, but figured I would chance it with Covid19 and the restrictions here in Michigan. Was surprised that whoever put my order together did a pretty good job of picking out fairly straight usable lumber. I did receive a few that had some bow to them, but planned ahead and ordered a few more than I actually needed. ( ordered 50 of these for a shed build mainly for the trusses). Overall I was happy. You have to understand what you are ordering, and these are fine for light builds and save a fair amount compared to using 2x4 when using large quantity. They are studs, so expect that. The would is dry and I did have some wanting to split when nails were driven, but that has become normal with construction lumber in today's world.

Great lumber, these can be used for studs, shelving, fence backer rails or any project where you need strength but with a little less strength, cost and size compared to a 2 x 4. I have also used these to create walls between tubs and showers for plumbing to save some space and money. I used these extensively in my shed for the walls and shelving. As with any lumber, you need to pick through the pile for good pieces. These are kiln-dried with <20% moisture but will still dry out a little further. Before they dry out further they take nails and screws well, after you may need to pre-drill holes. They are not sanded and are of general rough lumber quality. They can be stained or painted if need be. The type of wood (different from store to store) is either spruce, pine or fur. These are not pressure treated and should not make contact with the ground or they will rot. Real size is 1.5" x 2.5" x 96".

Do not use curbside when you're buying wood or else you're gonna get the worst pieces.

I used the curbside pickup and the quality of these boards appeared to be of quality of the discarded one that had already been picked over. Very disappointed!

They met my need, good quality.

Half were bowed and warped. I was able to use most of the bowed ones depending how they were bowed. I used a few of the warped for small pieces. I’d say I had probably 15 to 20 I didn’t use at all.
