Q:how does MCA copper react with metal fasteners , nails, screws etc

Answer This Question

A:  Our products do not contain MCA preservative, so i can't answer to that. We use Copper Azole type C. We recommend hot dipped galvanized fasteners for use when installing our treated lumber in outdoor applications. Near saltwater stainless steel should be used.

Q:Can use this to make beds for my vegetables

    Answer This Question

A:  We would recommend using our ground contact rated pressure treated lumber instead. That grade has the incising (cut marks) that allows more preservative into the wood and is rated for ground contact. All pressure treated lumber is proven safe for use with garden beds. Thanks

A:  You should never use pressure treated wood with plants you intend to eat. The chemicals could leak to your vegetables which is no bueno. Use cedar instead or some other naturally rot resistant outdoor wood.

          Answer This Question

A:  This material is treated with a water based treatment. Water based paints can be applied at any time. For oil based paints you want to make sure your material is dry. Put a drop of water on it and if it doesn't bead up, then you can apply that paint. Follow paint manufacturer's application instructions. Good luck with your project.

Poor quality. Go to an Actual Lumber Store
I purchased about 120 boards to replace an old fence. Of those in the pallet, 10-15% were split or had big chunks taken out, and another 10% have already started warping after just over a month. Poor quality.

Horrible quality! I called and discussed with manager. She told me she would give me a credit. That did not have and no call back either. Shameful! I will be alerting everyone I know to avert their purchases from Home Depot.

I bought these boards for a set of steps. They were really nice 2x6's and stronger then cedar and really good looking, much better than regular treated. I wouldn't use them in contact with the ground but I will buy more for the railings.
