Hello Mike, Thank you for your question. This fitting does not require the use of Teflon tape or thread sealant. The female compression connection has a integrated rubber seal and the other compression connections use the standard compression nut and sleeve that are included. I need to correct my previous answer. My apologies. The package includes a tick symbol in a circle which BrassCraft uses to indicate compliance with 2014 no-lead requirements (see photo).
Such valves do exist. The last time I looked for one, both the master plumber at my Home Depot as well as my neighbor, who is a retired plumber, told me they are subject to so many leaks over time that they both highly recommended I avoid them. Sorry for the bad news!
