Does the 3/8" female nut side of fitting rotate independently of fitting so that entire fitting does not need to rotate to tighten sufficiently without overtightening to align 1/4" compression fitting as needed for correct orientation?

Can this be used with Teflon tape? No, Teflon tape and pipe dope should not be used on compression fittings. The fitting makes it water tight, Teflon tape will interfere with the seal.

          Answer This Question

Hello Mike, Thank you for your question. This fitting does not require the use of Teflon tape or thread sealant. The female compression connection has a integrated rubber seal and the other compression connections use the standard compression nut and sleeve that are included. Please contact our Customer Support Team at 877-272-7755 if you need further assistance.

I need to correct my previous answer. My apologies. The package includes a tick symbol in a circle which BrassCraft uses to indicate compliance with 2014 no-lead requirements (see photo).

Such valves do exist. The last time I looked for one, both the master plumber at my Home Depot as well as my neighbor, who is a retired plumber, told me they are subject to so many leaks over time that they both highly recommended I avoid them. Sorry for the bad news!

Install bidet toilet seat on skirted toilet
I have a skirted Toto toilet so there wasn't enough room to connect my bidet toilet seat, a Brondell Ecoseat S101. This T-fitting made installation possible by providing another connection for the bidet inlet hose. Inexpensive and solid.

⅜ tee needed for multiple connection
What i needed for my set up. Got a new bidet with both cold/hot water connections. I needed to take into the hot water supply line under my batroom sink and needed a ⅜ tee for the project. This was exactly what i needed for the ⅜ compression metal lines i use to supply hot water the the faucet and to the bidet. It simply works as it should and easy to install.

I needed to connect a Pur water filter from my main line under the sink to their provided hose. The filter came with an adapter, but it was set up for 1/2 inch to 3/8 inch with the barb coming out and I needed 3/8 inch to 3/8. I had to piece together my set up and this was one of the pieces I used. I applied teflon tape to the threads for a more sure fit. This piece connected to a female to female adapter and then to the barbed connector for the hose. It has been installed for a couple of weeks and there hasn't been a single issue and I don't forsee any either. On a side note, the plumbing specialist at my home depot helped me pick out the pieces I would need and even opened up the packages to check the fit in store. The main thing we were both worried about was the seating of the seals, but he went above and beyond to make sure that everything would fit before I ever left the store.

Great fitting for creating two 3/8" outlets on your hot/cold line.
I installed one of these for an under sink water purifier; one cold line to the sink and another to the purifier. Very easy to install with a small wrench and has lasted fine for several years. This is a very handy fitting if you do not want to install a water valve with a double outlet.

I gave this 2 stars only so this wouldn’t get lost in the many 5 star reviews. This is a good product if you have a valve that connects directly to a 3/8 compression line and you need to connect two 3:8 compression lines to the valve. One leg of this tee connects directly to the valve and the other two legs connect to the two compression lines. The description says that if you pay attention. If you need to join THREE compression lines this is NOT the tee you need

This was a key part for me as I looked to install my refrigerator ice/water line. It was a tough find at the other place, but Home Depot had it in stock. I ordered online and it was ready for pick up in the locker within 24 hours. I really like this service instead of walking up and down the aisles to find the right part.

When I changed out my kitchen faucet I also changed out the supply valves to quarter turn valves but you can’t get a dual outlet supply valves that are quarter turn but with these T fittings solved this issue. Each supply line under my kitchen sink valve required a T fitting, both hot and cold supplied the kitchen faucet obviously but in addition the hot side also supplies my dishwasher and the cold side supplies my RO system. The T fittings where the best option to accommodate everything I need under the sink without getting overly creative. Overall very happy to find these fittings and made my installation easy. The fittings are well made and the female connection has a rubber seal which is great because you don’t need Teflon tape to make it water tight. Also the female connection makes it easy to rotate the fitting where you need it too.

This is a must have for every plumber and DIY’er. I used these to install a new bathroom vanity with dual sinks and faucets, and these were a perfect fit to install my water lines with shut-off valves. Great product and quality part. I recommend to always have a few of these on hand for those needed home repairs under the sink.

This is easy leak free way to add an additional fixture to a shutoff valve. The Brasscraft T-fitting is made of brass, with quality construction and uses compression style 3/8" fittings. No ferrules or nuts come with this fitting, but it fits perfectly with 3/8 plumbing hoses. I used this to have 2 fixtures on a double sink bathroom vanity. The connecting nut swivels, so the Tee portion of the valve can be tightened to be oriented in any position, which is great for areas with little clearance. I used plumbers tape, but it is not needed. They also make a different style that uses a 1/4" fitting used for adding ice makers to a kitchen. Made in the USA.
