Does this plug aerator have an adjustment for the depth of the aerator into the ground
Additional weight up to 140 lbs. can be added to the weight tray to increase the depth of the aerator knives. Something else to consider is that the condition of the soil determines the depth of the aerator knives. We recommend watering the lawn 1-2 hours before aerating.

Whats the gage of the steel plugs
12 GA. GALV.
I have an Agri-Fab 40" Plug Aerator Model 45-0298 and tow behind a riding mower. It has worked fine for more than 25 years. However today, when running under load, the tray tilts forward all the way to the ground, dropping off the weights. Help!

Dave Z, I had the same experience several years ago using an old Agri-Fab plugger that I'd purchased secondhand. At some point during its use the center support broke, the weight of the ballast (cinder blocks) tilted the tray forward and broke the tongue directly beneath the forward edge of the ballast tray. I ordered parts from Agri-Fab and did the repairs, although it ended up costing as much as a new machine.
Is the depth adjustable
You have the option to raise or lower the knives but the height is not adjustable. Thank you.
