What are the dimensions of the base? I'd like to make a stand for it before it gets delivered. I see that there are bolt hole I'd need to accommodate the construction for as well.

Congratulations on getting a fantastic planer! The base is 17-1/4 x12 inches. I made mobile planer stand from Woodsmith magazine, it works beautifully. Also keep in mind you will need dust collection and the Makita dust hood is oddball size and will need adapted to fit 4” pipe, easy to do so enjoy the new tool.
Are there any You Tube videos that show how to use the planer that are in English? I have found Polish and Italian but no English. I find the written instructions very poor for someone who has never used a planer before. I own the planer and I am trying to figure out how to use it. The manufacturer has no resources I can find.

I wish to plane planks (200mm), but want them straight on the thin edge (23mm). Can this planer hold the plank in place edge-on and plane a perfect finish? How does it hold a plank edge-on?
