What are the dimensions of the rails
Leew, the Somerset 6 ft. H x 6 ft. W White Vinyl Privacy Fence Panel (Model 128009) from The Home Depot includes two rails. Actual Panel Height is 68.5”, Actual Panel Width is 67” Each rail is 1.5 inches thick.
Can the panel be assembled without the fence post? I need the assembled panel for a different application. Basically I want to screw the 6 x 6 panel to the posts supporting my second floor deck. For privacy.
William, it is possible to assemble this panel without the posts, however proper application of this does require the panel to be attached to the appropriate posts with brackets. This fence panel has not been tested to be used as a guard rail system and we would not suggest using it as a supporting structure on a second-floor balcony.
I need a 5x6 adjustable gate to match this fence. How can I accomplish this?
Mike, unfortunately, we do not have a gate available with those dimensions that will match this panel. The only gate that we offer for this panel is model number 181976, which can be found on Home Depot.com.
Can I install these panels using 4x4 posts with 4x4 vinyl post jackets?
Mike, we have not conducted testing on these panels for this specific style of installation. However, we recommend using posts that have been tested to provide the necessary support on their own. The recommended posts for installing these panels are model number 195164, which can be found on Home Depot.com.
Can this panel be used as a free standing panel on asphalt? what is needed to do that?
crittermom, we do not recommend this method of installation as the posts that connect to this panel are designed to provide support when set directly in the ground.
do you need 4x4 wood posts inside the vinyl posts?
Ralph, These posts are "stand alone" posts and do not require a pressure treated post inside of them. The only exception to this would be for a post that a gate hangs from. Due to the extra unsupported weight of the gate, we do recommend a pressure treated post inside of a gate post (only on the side the gate is actually hanging from).
