This rope has a working load limit if 212 lbs. It is not meant for any application where safety is a concern or overhead lifting. It would depend on the application to determine the weight being applied to the rope.
This rope is made of nylon, which is absorbent. It could wick water upwards, but it's designed as general-purpose rope, not specifically for watering pots. A dedicated watering wick or cord designed for planters would be more efficient for that purpose.
This product is not meant for use as a safety line or life support system.
There is no inner core in this product. You would not have that problem with this rope.
Nylon rope will stretch up to 20% at its break strength.
Nylon rope will stretch under load, up to approximately 20% at its breaking point. While it will return to its original shape after tension is released, the stretching may not be ideal for a dog run line where consistent tautness is desired. A non-stretch or low-stretch material like polyester rope might be a more suitable option for a dog run.
From what I've read, nylon rope will give some, and stretch under load, but return to its original shape. If you don't want it to stretch, polyester rope is a better choice.
