Hi JJ84, Thank you for the question. This model has a reset button or overload protector at the bottom. To learn more about how this overload protector works, you can check out this link: https://support.insinkerator.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/516
Hi Lydia, we appreciate you letting us know about the leak in your garbage disposer. We do not have any known issues with our disposer, or anything specific with your model. If you're seeing rust at the bottom, it's usually caused by the disposer not being fully tightened when installed. If you’re interested, we have a troubleshooting guide here that may help you determine the issue: https://bit.ly/3AX6ZAD. If you’d still need assistance, please contact us through https://support.insinkerator.com/app/ask.
Can't say. Maybe you have faulty unit. See if it is still under warranty.
Yes
Piggybacking to stay it comes with a chord you can wire but the instructions say connect white neutral wire to white chord wire but the chord doesn't have a white wire. The neutral wire is the ribbed 1 of the 3 on the chord, and the smooth one is hot.
Hi Veronica, thanks for reaching out! Yes, this unit can be installed as hardwired.
Yes. It also come with a plug you could install.
No I can’t answer the questionI suggest you consult an electrician.
It has been over a month since I installed mine, but I believe I had to attached the included power cord to the disposal, so you could hard wire it directly instead of using the plug.
Hi Dani, thank you for your question. Yes, the disposer is not designed to run indefinitely. As a safety precaution, it has a mechanism that detects when the motor begins to overheat and turns off the disposer.
Hi Jim, your disposer comes with a stopper that is designed to be put in the sink hole opening while operating the disposer.
No, there is no safety switch, but the cover in the dran is quite small and would be very difficult to get one's hand through.
Hi Jim, the Evolution Supreme SS is controlled by a wall switch or air-activated switch. But you can convert it to a batch feed type by getting the Cover Control Plus Adaptor model: CCPA-00. Here’s the specs: https://insinkerator.emerson.com/documents/h853-16g-83-10-2016-08-10-en-4966520.pdf.
The unit is switched on by an external switch.
Jim, Per the installation manual, this disposal needs to have an OFF switch within sight of the disposal, since it is 1HP. The OFF switch is for safety. You cannot use a sink top pushbutton style switch, because it does not let you know when it is in the OFF position. InSinkErator has a model called Evolution Cover Control and it is a Batch Feed disposer that turns on by the Magnetic Cover Start Switch. I hope this helps.
Hi Eden, if you're installing a new disposer, please refer to this link to see what other materials you might still need aside from the SinkTop Switch Kit - https://support.insinkerator.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/577.
No just install and plug in.
Probably not, but you may need to adjust your drain configuration. We had to alter the drain from the double sink to get things to fit. We didn't have much space under the sink. Otherwise, everything needed to install it was included.
Perfect.
Circumferences (approx): top 27" middle (widest part) 28: bottom: 22" You can divide those each by 3.14 to get diameter, which is more likely to be more helpful in your deliberations.
Hi Sharon, here's the product specifications where you can see the dimensions of this unit - https://bit.ly/37rOarR. I hope this helps!
