They are not designed for ceiling mounting. If you cannot drill holes in the wall you might be able to use angle irons on a wooden block at each end and then mount those to the ceiling with screws. Then you could use the supplied brackets to mount to the blocks you just put in. Of course that will add to the distance the rod sticks out from the wall by the thickness of the block of wood.
