Questions & Answers

Is this material suitable for outdoor installation (after priming and painting)?

Want to add some "gingerbread" work on the gable of a house and use this material if suitable for outdoor installation.
Asked by: Stanton
Yes this is a very good exterior project, a perfect example of use. The Coast Guard has used it to make channel markers. The biggest additional effort you need to make sure to do is seal the edges completely.

No, the MDF film is on one side only. It is only 4 ply, but is very strong and stiff.

This material can be used to build or repair boat interiors. So it can sparingly be found in some yachting regions on the coasts, but not inland.

Can you use a router to rout out the name of my business for the outdoor sign on this material?

Asked by: Jeff
This is rated as exterior plywood, however, the layers (plys) are thin so it may not be the best material to rout lettering.
