Q:Do I need to buy a separate NG conversion set? Another answer talks about removing a 7mm socket when installing. I already have a NG to grill connection.

    Answer This Question

A:  I bought a new conversion kit for this grill. I had one conversion for a different brand grill & was time to replace it!

A:  We only test the grills with our conversion kits. Converting the grill without the kit will void the warranty.

A:  I bought a separate NG conversion kit from 3 Embers. I did the install myself and it was pretty straight-forward using their instructions. Ask the to send you the connection information for hooking up to the NG connector. Make sure you buy NG fittings, not plumbing fittings. I hope this helps.

Q:Does the see through window on the lid stay clear or fade or cloud up or discolor because of extreme cooking heat and grease?

          Answer This Question

A:  It is appliance grade glass. It will get grease and smoke on it. You can easily clean it with an oven glass cleaner. Never use regular oven cleaner inside your grill but the glass cleaner is fine.

Wow, such an amazing 6 burner stainless steel propane gas grill. Of note, this can be converted to natural gas as well. Assembly was so easy, it is basically in three large pieces--the two side burners and the central piece. It was basically no hassle at all! Propane sits in a little well on the inside cabinet floor. The burner knobs have a cool LED feature that light up blue anytime the burner is on. That being said, you have to push in a decent amount as you twist to fully turn off the burners. There is a searing burner and a side burner. The window seems like a nice feature to allow you to see your food, hopefully it stays clear or is easy to clean. The top rack does not have an elevated lip, so it is easy to accidentally push food off the back if you aren't careful. Overall, I think many will enjoy this grill and I highly recommend it!.

This 6-burner grill is very big so it makes a great party grill. It also works well for a small meal. There is some assembly required and some of it was a bit tedious. The assembly instructions could have been a bit better but we figured it out. It took about 2 hours to put the grill together. This grill is very well made and sturdy. The lid is heavy. The control knobs light up when in use which is nice to know which burners are on. They are a little tricky to turn off but more just getting used to it. It has a searing burner on the left and a side burner for pots on the right. The last meal I tried was a reverse seared steak. I was able to control the temperature at 250 with just one burner. Love the window feature. Makes it so easy to regulate the temperature since you don't have to open the grill to check your food.

Spring is the perfect time to start getting ready for my favorite summer activity: backyard grill...
Spring is the perfect time to start getting ready for my favorite summer activity: backyard grilling. The spacious central grilling surface with multiple burner selections gives me plenty of flexibility when it comes to multi-zone cooking. Each illuminated burner control knob displays which burners are in use with just a glance. The large viewing window in the lid has a thermometer built in for checking the internal temperature without opening. The two slide-out grease trays and separate catch pan makes for easier cleanup when I've finished. This large, freestanding grill weighs a hefty 175 pounds yet is capably supported on four locking casters for portability. The manufacturer even includes extra screws if you misplace one during assembly and a match-holding tool to use if a burners' electric igniter fails to operate. The materials selected, the fit of the parts, and brushed finish of the stainless steel grill body are near perfect with only one small problem discovered during the assembly. This manufacturing error refers to an igniter power supply wire that was pinched between two burner tubes and their related gas supply valves within the 6-burner center unit. I easily corrected this minor defect by securing the wiring with zip ties to prevent a future occurrence. Assembly directions are generally good but need to show better detailed views of the side table gas valves to aid with their mounting orientation and offer better views of which screws you have to temporarily remove prior to mounting both side burners. Additionally, no mention is made in the assembly instructions for connecting the burner knob lighting cable (near the gas valve mount) on the both right and the left side auxiliary burner table. Removing the left and right side table burner heads prior to mounting the side tables, allowed more workspace for my hands and tools. Note that a magnetic tipped Phillips screwdriver or Phillips screw starter allows easier assembly in this restricted area. I also unhooked the flexible gas supply line on both side table gas valves to lessen the possibility of accidentally kinking this supply line during the gas valve installation; supply lines were then reconnected and checked for gas leaks with soapy water. Additionally I would suggest that after removing the two screws that mount the Sear Burner in the left side table, remove the grease capture tray, then lower the Sear Burner down and out thru the now open bottom of the left side table to avoid damaging the stationary igniter electrodes. Lastly, a Stainless Steel Rotisserie Kit (Model #ACC7100AS) is available at Home Depot along with a good selection of grill covers (I choose a 64-inch long cover for easy removal.) A natural-gas conversion kit and/or repair parts are available from the manufacturer.

I purchased this grill after several weeks of intensive online research. I was replacing a 15 year old Costco Kirkland brand grill that I truly loved. Well let me say I didn't know what I was missing. I have the grill converted to run off of Natural Gas and the evenness that this grill cooks at is amazing. With my old grill I had to rotate food front to back constantly, with the 3E everything cooks evenly regardless of placement. The grill seems to be built of quality components (only time will tell) and customer service was very responsive with some small initial issues I had.
