Can you believe what you can do with a landscaping timber?
I have built with landscaping timbers for years but the creatively has just come out in the pass two years..... I use these for bannisters on porches. They hold up very well and look very woodsy. I sliced these and use them for trim for a cabin feel without the cost, in each room..... The results are stunning and very "WOW" factor.... Now JASE and I are creating an outdoor fire pit area with these and treated lumber and a grape arbor..... very striking...

Better last year
I bought two bundles of these landscape timbers (I call them 'logs') last year, and another two bundles this year. They come packed 80 logs per bundle. Last year's logs were almost all straight, and both bundles contained logs of the same diameter. But this year's bundles contained way too many twisted logs, and the log diameters in one bundle were cut 1/4" to 1/2" smaller than the other. These problems contributed to a far more difficult building project this year than last. If you need all your logs to be the same diameter I suggest that you pull them all from a single bundle. Then you may have a better chance of getting all the same size. If you need more than one bundle (like I did) please be sure to check the size of several logs from each bundle. I made the mistake of assuming they were all the same size when they were not.

Too Early to tell
Price was awesome on these timbers. I have had some crack after I built the raised beds. Had to pick through the pallets of them to get the good 105 I bought. Time will tell on how well they last through the weather.

Not actually 3 in. x 5 in.
I was misled by the advertised title to think that this item was rough cut to 3 x 5 inches and would be finished to about 2.5 x 4.5 inches Not so. This item is the same as the item displayed as: "8 foot landscape timber" and although the two items have different model numbers, if you compare the store SKU numbers you find they are identical. Oh well <sigh>. Nevertheless, I am glad I drove out and bought 90 of these, (they were on sale) and am planning to get more before the sale ends. Be advised, however, that the typical finished size is about 2.75 inches x 3.75 inches x 8 feet. To satisfy my curiosity, I consulted with store employees and confirmed that these were the only landscape timbers offered for sale.
