About This Product

Milwaukee M/2 2-Cutter SDS-Plus Rotary Hammer Drill bits provide up to 30% faster drilling speeds and up to 20% more holes per charge in cordless rotary hammers. Breaker Point pulverize the material more effectively resulting in up 30% faster drilling speeds compared to competitive SDS-Plus drill bits. The variable flute allows for maximum debris extraction leading to up 20% more holes per charge in cordless rotary hammer while making it a very durable bit in corded and cordless rotary hammers. The enhanced rebar guards provide increased durability in hard aggregate and rebar. Additionally, M/2 features a centering tip for exact spot drilling, wear mark indicator indicating when the bit no longer meets ANSI diameter requirements, and a reinforced flute for durability and minimized vibration. The increased life and efficiency of the M/2 2-Cutter drill bit line provides the ideal solution in brick, block, and concrete for cordless and corded rotary hammer users.

Questions & Answers

Is this bit compatible with a standard power drill ?
ByOct 8, 2026
1 Answer |
Answer This Question

No, the 3/16 in. x 6 in. 2-Cutter SDS-PLUS Carbide Drill Bit (48-20-8211) has an SDS-PLUS shank and is designed for use in SDS-PLUS rotary hammers, not a standard drill chuck.

Can it be used like an awl to mark where holes need to be drilled?
    ByAug 14, 2026
    1 Answer |
    Answer This Question

No. I would not recommend using it as an awl or punch. SDS-PLUS carbide bits are designed for drilling concrete and masonry, not for marking hole locations. Using the tip as a punch can damage the carbide cutting edges and reduce drilling performance.

You say it should work on concrete, brick, and block. Does block mean it should be able to drill holes into granite rock?
      ByJun 28, 2026
      1 Answer |
      Answer This Question

No — “block” means concrete block (CMU), not natural granite. The 5/8" SDS-PLUS 4-Cutter Bit is designed for concrete, brick, and masonry.

Does this bit fit 1/2” drive hammer drills hilti, bocsh, Makita
          ByJun 6, 2026
          1 Answer |
          Answer This Question

This is an SDS Plus bit with indents on the shank specifically for use in SDS Rotary Hammers. For ordinary hammer drills use smooth or hex shank masonry bit. Check label on the tool which type you have. These bits are universal across brands.

Can this be used with a hammer drill with a 1/2 inch chuck?
            ByMay 26, 2026
            1 Answer |
            Answer This Question

You need an SDS-PLUS rotary hammer to use that 1" x 18" SDS-PLUS bit. It will not work in a hammer drill with a standard 1/2" chuck.

What drill bit do I need to drill a hole in a stump

              Answer This Question

Go with a self taping spade bit. 3/4"-1"-1 1/4"any of these are good. Back out bit to clear chips. Drill a few holes, not sure if you want to soak stump, salt stump or use store bought product. Whichever you want many holes

Hey Ruby. The Milwaukee 5/8" x 12" 4-Cutter SDS-PLUS Carbide Drill Bit is not the right choice for drilling a hole in a wood stump. Use a ship auger bit or spade bit (flat wood bit) for wood applications.

Buzzed right through a concrete floor without hesitation. Battery powered hammer drill as well. Exceeded my expectations.

these worked great. I needed to secure some shelves to a cinder block wall as we have a new baby coming and want the shelving unit to be stable. this make it easy to drill into the wall in order to hammer in the anchor. i would definitely recommend these drill bits for drilling into concrete.

Drilling thru brick is a pain, but this Milwaukee drill bit made pretty quick work of the multiple holes I needed to drill.

Worked as expected. My wife wanted to attach a sign to a large rock at the end of our driveway so i purchased this bit to drill the hole and it worked well.

                  10 3/4" holes 10" deep, no problem
Using a SDS-Plus hammer drill from HF, this drill bit allowed me to drill 10 holes 3/4" diameter through 8 to 10 inches of 3500 psi, fiber reinforced concrete. In one hole, I hit some rebar and it chewed through it no problem. I was patient and let the drill and bit do the work. Job was for mounting my two post automotive lift.

This bit worked great with a hammer drill. I literally allowed the weight of the drill + a little pressure to complete a 3-1/4" hole in a seasoned concrete pad, which took about 20 seconds per hole. I had 4 total. Very pleased with the bit and after looking at it found little to no wear.

So far so good I used this bit several times already and it drills through concrete with no problem at all. It is well made and doesn’t burn up as easy as some of the other brands. I would recommend this to anyone needing a new drill bit

                    Drills through masonry with ease
This masonry bit was perfect for drilling the main holes needed to install a new doorbell in the masonry veneer on the front of our house. I drilled pilot holes first using a 5/32 in. bit, then followed up with this 1/4 in. bit. Using a concrete/rebar-rated 4-cutter might have been overkill for that particular project, but it made the job super easy. I used a Milwaukee M18 D-handle 1 in. SDS-Plus rotary hammer with this bit. Everything went super smoothly using Milwaukee's system.

Great for pilot hole in masonry
This masonry bit was great for drilling pilot holes in the brick face of our house in order to install a new doorbell. Larger holes were needed for the project, but this bit provided good-sized pilot holes to get started. I used it in a Milwaukee M18 D-handle 1" SDS-Plus rotary hammer. The 4-cutter bit may have been overkill for this project, but it cut through that brick like butter in rotation+hammer mode. It was easy to drill the larger holes after drilling these pilot holes.
