No, the standard Raypak 009217 is not recommended for saltwater pools because it has a copper heat exchanger, which is susceptible to corrosion from saltwater. For saltwater applications, you should look at Home Depot number 304323952 (Raypak 014939). It has a cupro-nickel heat exchanger, which is resistant to the corrosion caused by salt.
The Raypak 009216 model is a digital natural gas pool and spa heater. It offers dual voltage capability, meaning it can operate on either 120V or 220-240V. Therefore, while it can certainly utilize a 220 line, it is also designed to work with a 120V connection. You should always contact a licensed professional electrician to be sure.
According to the official Raypak brochure: https://s3.amazonaws.com/AWSProd/sites/raypakcom/documents/6000.75.pdf Excellent for use in chlorinated and salt water pools
Great question, but unfortunately this heater is designed for pool use.
