The PressureWave tank is a premium-quality, industrial-strength pressurized well tank used by top pump companies and installers around the world. The water chamber is constructed of a virgin polypropylene liner and a FDA compliant, high-grade butyl diaphragm which does not impart any taste or odor to your drinking water and keeps the water contaminant-free. The O-ring-sealed air valve and cap and our stainless steel patented water connection ensure no air leakage. The corrosion-free, rugged composite base and rust-resistant exterior paint finish add to the tank's longevity. This is a maintenance-free, pre-charged pressure tank which is backed by a 5-year warranty and can be a direct replacement for most installations.

The PressureWave tanks can be installed and work with a tankless water heater as long as it is within our operating temperature limits. The PressureWave™ tanks minimum operating temperature is 14°F / -10°C (Avoid Freezing) and the maximum operating temperature is 194°F / 90°C. Per our installation guide in the “Installation and Operations Manual” it is recommended to install the PressureWave™ tanks as recommended in order to ensure your tank provides its maximum service life; and it should be installed in a covered, dry area that is not subject to freezing. Our tanks are designed for a wide range of applications, including well water systems, irrigation systems, booster systems, VFD-controlled systems and water hammer arresting. Please review the “Installation and Operations Manual” for the tanks for further installation guidance.
Hi Chuck ~ No, the vertical PressureWave™ tanks do not come with a pump/motor mount stand, only the horizontal PressureWave™ tank models come with a pump mount stand. The good news, the pump mount stand, model PWN-US-PM, is available for separate purchase and is compatible with all the PressureWave™ vertical tanks.
Hi Mark ~ this depends on the size of pressure switch that you have in your system. The PressureWave pressure tanks have a pre-charge of 38 psi. Tanks installed with a fixed speed pumping system should be set 2 psi below cut-in pressure. Example: with 20/40; the tank is set to 18 psi, 30/50; tank is set to 28 psi and 40/60; tank is set to 38 psi.
We have a drawdown chart on the pressure tank retail box, as the drawdown depends on the pressure switch that you have on your system. For this model/size tank the drawdown for the PWN-US-160LV (42.3 gallon / 160 liter) pressure tank is as follows with: - 20/40 pressure switch = 15.48 gallons / 58.60 liters - 30/50 pressure switch = 13.07 gallons / 49.48 liters - 40/60 pressure switch = 11.34 gallons / 42.91 liters I hope this helps and if you have any other questions, please do not hesitate to ask. You can also find more detailed information at our www.gwsusa.com website.
The 42.3-gallon pressure tank (model PWN-US-160LV) package/box is 21.7" length x 21.7" width x 37.8" height.
The PWN-US-130LV (34.34 gallon / 130 liter) PressureWave™ pressure tank has a 16.9” (inch) diameter (width and depth) and 42.2” (inch) height; with a water connection that is 2.4” (inches) height from the tank base bottom/floor to the inlet/outlet water connection centerline.
For our GWS PressureWave™ pressure tanks you can use a standard pressure switch for well pumps in sizes 20/40, 30/50, 40/60, etcetera, but please be sure to set the pre-charge in this pressure tank accordingly. The air pre-charge of this tank is manufactured and set to a 38psi pre-charge, which is the pre-charge needed for the 40/60 pressure switch. Your pre-charge should be set to 2psi below the cut-in of your pressure switch. Example: with 20/40 pressure switch the tank is set to 18 psi, with a 30/50 pressure switch the tank is set to 28 psi and with a 40/60 pressure switch the tank is set to 38 psi.
Our GWS PressureWave™ pressure tanks from 2 - 42 gallon are manufactured in Taiwan.
