Abstract rugs are hand-tufted using wool blend and styled with engaging patterns in harmonious hues that convey a warm, welcoming aspect in room decor. Abstract area rugs are the home decorator's favorite choice to add long-lasting beauty and a comforting feel underfoot to living room, family room or bedroom decor.
Highlights
- 100% wool
- Cotton backing, rug pad (sold separately) recommended to help prevent shifting and sliding
- Hand tufted in India
- Hand Tufted in India
- Available in multiple sizes and/or colors
- Vacuum regularly and spot clean; for hard-to-remove stains, professional rug cleaning is recommended; rotating your rugs every 3 months - 6 months will protect against uneven wear from foot traffic and furniture weight
- Use rug protectors under the legs of heavy furniture to avoid flattening piles
- New wool rugs shed as a natural consequence of how they are made; vacuum a new wool rug 1 - 2 times a week for the first few weeks using a low pressure vacuum cleaner without beater bars; vacuum in the direction of the pile, not against it; do not pull loose ends or stray loops, clip them with scissors to remove
- Avoid direct sunlight as it will cause the colors in your area rug to fade over time; place your area rug away from direct sunlight whenever possible
- Packing and shipping of your rug may cause temporary creases; these surface waves are not imperfections or damages and will gradually recede; back-rolling or reverse rolling is the fastest and easiest way to remove creases in your area rug; allow ample time for your rug to settle, these creases and waves will normally flatten out
- 60-day manufacturer warranty for defects only; normal wear and tear is not warranted; visible damages not noted upon delivery will be determined to be customer damage and will not be warranted; returned items must be in new or unused conditions with the original manufacturers packaging; all products are inspected upon arrival and we do not accept worn, dirty or stained merchandise

Questions & Answers
In the text under "product description" it says that the rug is wool blend. Just below, it says 100% wool. Which is it? If it's a blend what is the composition? What percent wool? Please fix this inconsistency.

Can any customers who have the 9 x12 or the 10 x 14 tell me if they are true to size, or do they run big or small? Many of the Safavieh rugs I've purchased have been 8 or more inches short so that would make a difference on which size I order. Thank you!

Answer This Question
I ordered a 2x22 runner in ivory/blue. I came back a week later to order the 3x5 and that one came. The color is completely different. It's more like navy or charcoal. Are there dye lot differences or wrong item shipped?

Answer This Question
Hello Kim! There are dye lot variances. Rugs from different production timelines will look slightly different when compared next to each other. Also, rugs from different collections will be different in color. Due to differences in monitor size & screen resolution, rugs may appear slightly different in your browser than they do in person.

As the answers already stated the brown is actually charcoal?so what is the charcoal one? Pictures for both are exactly the same. I don?t want black but wouldn?t mind seeing some grayish-black (that?s what I thought charcoal might be.

Answer This Question
Hi Karen. The chocolate and charcoal are the same, the chocolate is named incorrectly. Thank you for bringing this to our attention.

Is the ivory/rust color more orange than ivory? It looks orange in the photo.

Answer This Question
Hello. It is labeled as rust as that is the color that each strand of fiber is dyed. Overall it might look a bit more orange. Thank you for your inquiry.

Has anyone seen the Safavieh Abstract Ivory/CHOCOLATE in person? The photos look like ivory with black/charcoal gray flecked edging not brown (what I would guess for chocolate). Thanks.

Answer This Question
The color is charcoal not chocolate. Don't know why they call it chocolate?

I just picked up this rug, it says its chocolate but it's not, it's charcoal. Sadly I will be returning. I do have to say it is a very well made rug. Too bad the description is not what it is.

The rug is very nice, but was delivered folded up instead of rolled. It’s been down a few weeks and still can’t get it to lay flat. The look and feel of the actual rug is great! Would have given the rug 5 stars if it had been delivered properly.

Thank you for sharing your feedback. We’re glad to hear you’re happy with the rug’s look and feel, but we’re sorry it arrived folded and has continued to have difficulty laying flat. We understand how frustrating that can be and appreciate you bringing this to our attention. We’ll share your comments with our team as we continue to improve the delivery experience.

Color and texture even better in person than pictured in App. I found this area rug at an online rug company for more than twice the cost, and even when they discounted it, Home Depot’s price was lower. This rug far exceeded our expectations and we will look at Home Depot’s huge area rug collection first for any of our future area rug purchases.

Beautiful rug but not a true red
Beautiful, well made rug with a lovely design. Alas the color is more an orange red and not a blue red. Back it goes.

Very nice rug! It came folded in a heavy waterproof plastic envelope. I was happy with how quickly it flattened out and the folds disappeared. It had very little smell that dissipated within two days. It looks great with our new floor!

Inaccurate Size Description
I have this rug in a different color and smaller sizes. And have been very satisfied. Sized up and changed color for my living room. A man must have been in charge of measuring because it is 4” shy of 8 feet. Will probably not return over 4 inches but am still debating.

Hello GrandmaTiger, thank you for your review, we apologize that you are dissatisfied with our product. Safavieh rugs may vary within a few inches. This is common in all Safavieh power-loomed rugs since it's woven by computer-controlled machines. This is also common in Safavieh Hand-Tufted Rugs, and Safavieh Hand-Knotted or Hand Woven rugs.

Best rugs we’ve bought in years!
BEST RUG we bought in years. Quality is excellent. Pattern is gorgeous; intricate yet soft and eye-catching. Coastal Bo-ho vibe. Comfortable for bare feet. Packaged very well. Glad they had 8’ x 8’ size option. Color as shown - gray “streaks” in design actually pick up blue tones in our room. There is a “new rug scent” but figure it will wear off… doesn’t bother us. Using in our sunroom. Price was reasonable and worth it. Highly recommend!

I'm giving four stars because the rug is smaller than 8 x 8 by a couple inches but it's a beautiful rug. It's still fit in my space so I'm going to keep it.

Very nice.
I agree with previous review that this looks great with coastal decor. The carpet is not too light and the abstract pattern blends well with our coral/sea life upholstered chairs.

Gorgeous Rug
I ordered this rug in an 8X10 ivory/charcoal and I’m completely satisfied. The rug looks so beautiful and elegant in my living room. It’s more black and ivory which was more of what I was wanting. I’m ordering a 9X12 to replace it with and moving the 8x10 to the dining room.
I’ve received so many compliments on the rug.
I ordered a hallway runner but the color did not match the larger rug the ivory had a yellowish tint and I had to return. I will try again with hopes of getting a different run. The rug did have a moldish smell but I sprinkled baking soda and Downy light scent booster pellets and let them set over night and the smell is totally gone. I couldn’t be more pleased “I LOVE THIS RUG!”
