SharkBite ProLock fittings are a versatile and innovative full-flow Push-to-Connect fitting, desinged and engineered for use with PEX, copper, CPVC, PE-RT & HDPE Pipe. The intuitive design makes for one of the simplest and most dependable fittings on the market. No tools are required to make a connection. They use a collet with stainless steel teeth that grips the pipe when fully inserted and an EPDM O-Ring to provide a permanent, leak-proof seal. The Twist-to-lock feature ensures maximum security. When twisted into place with indicator arrows aligned, the locking cap locks the pipe in place. Removing the fitting is even easier with no special tools required, simply twist the cap counterclockwise to unlock then depress collet against the fitting to remove from pipe. ProLock fittings are suitable for hot and cold potable water and hydronic heating applications. Are the dimensions shown for outer diameter of pipes?
This fitting is designed to connect to CTS sized pipe which would measure 5/8" and 1/2" on their true OD.
Can we use underground
No, these are not for use underground.
We have 3/4" hdpe air line, can these be used for that as well?
Yes, ProLock PL0116A will work with 3/4″ CTS HDPE.
Is the 1” the inside or outside measurement
Hello Mike, this fitting is designed to fit 1" CTS pipe. CTS is a standard measurement for Copper, PEX and CPVC pipe. The pipe that this fitting would connect to is going to have an OD of 1-1/8". Hello, Both fittings can be used in potable water and radiant heating applications. Both fittings can also be installed on PEX, Copper, CPVC and PE-RT. However, Sharkbite MAX is also compatible with HDPE SDR 9 piping making it more suitable for a wider range of applications. Can this connector be used to connect pvc and poly pipe?
