Are these breakers rated for usage as a backfed breaker?

    Answer This Question

Electrician wired 2 40 amp LB240-T breakers. Right correct. Left being inverted put the neutral on screw not N. The microwave (part of oven unit) smoked w/o flipping breaker, fried controls, oven can't run. Read 180 and 60v H 2 N (why?) and at fault?

    Answer This Question

Unfortunately, the electrician made a condition called 'floating neutral' which makes dangerous voltage imbalances. One leg showed 180V, the other leg 60V. The 180V smoked the microwave. This condition did not trip the breaker since it didn't exceed 40A.

    By|Dec 16, 2025

When attached correctly to the N marked spot, all the legs read 120v and N to ground 0. Previously was 180v 60v and 120v N to G. Also why is there an extra screw if it causes this issue?

What size conductors are the 100aa breakers rated for? The manual only specifies the load center not the breaker itself.

That breaker the LB230TR is not smart, The smart version model number LB230-ST communicates to hub and hub communicates to the Wi-Fi network.

Really a great looking option to the old gray sub panel. Breakers snap in easily with no need for unnecessary wiring to the breaker itself. The panel that holds the breaker has a see thru window and the breakers have individual lights to warn if there is a problem with the beaker. All in all, a very modern looking update to an outdated electrical system.

I was skeptical about this new Leviton load center and breakers. They “look” cheap in pictures but I can assure you they are extremely well made and make install so so easy. Will be using this setup in all of my new installations going forward.

Works as expected. I love the Leviton panels and breakers. When a breaker trips there is no question which on it is. I now have four of their panels in my property and will use more if needed in the future. I will never go back to old style panels and breakers.

A breaker is a breaker. The Leviton box on the other hand is great.
