What cutters should I use to cut barbed wire fence?
Hey CT, For cutting barbed wire fence we would recommend a more heavy duty cutter such as the 0890mc or the PWC9 if the material is under 5/32", the lighter cutters for cable will wear out prematurely and the blade can be damaged due to the harder material. Will these cut 1/8 inch wire rope
Buddy, These are designed to cut electrical cables, mainly Copper (up to 2/0) and Aluminium (up to 4/0). The 1/8 inch steel wire rope/cable you would be cutting would most likely damage the blades on this cutter. I would suggest using the H.K. Porter 7-1/2 in. Pocket Wire Rope and Cable Cutters: Model # 0690TN Internet # 205369894 which are available on Home Depots website. These are specifically designed to cut wire rope and cable. They are designed to cut cable up to 3/16 inch with a shear style jaw.
