Questions & Answers
Re "plated brass fitting." What does this mean? Are fittings solid brass, plated with something? Nickel? Why? How durable? (I see too many weasel words - Husky states "brass thread couplings to prevent corrosion" in describing their aluminum couplings.)
We use chrome plating over the brass fitting to provide an additional protective surface, improve resistance to corrosion and oxidation, and provide a durable, clean finish suitable for repeated use. Brass itself is inherently corrosion-resistant and is particularly well suited to threaded connections, while the chrome-plated surface provides an additional layer of environmental protection.
Are these suitable for potable water applications?
Thank you for your question. The AG-Lite hose is designed for water transfer and watering applications; however, it is not rated or certified for drinking-water use. It is intended for general water transfer applications such as agriculture, landscaping, industrial use, and washdown rather than potable water consumption.
Does hose collapse when hooked to transfer pump?
David—thanks for reaching out! Ag-lite 3/4 in. × 6 ft. Heavy-Duty Rubber lead-in hose does not collapse, as it’s made from premium thick-wall rubber that maintains its shape and delivers reliable performance.
what is the inner diameter (ID) of the hose itself?
It is 3/4"
does the hose swivel at the fitting?
Thank you for your question! The hose fittings themselves do not swivel. However, a great option to add swivel functionality is our Twist Ease Kink Eliminator (THD# 331163888 / Model# AVG-HSF-75), which pairs perfectly with this hose.
What is the ID of the hose fitting?
Thank you for asking! The 3/4 in. measurement refers to the inside diameter (ID) of the hose.
Is this a solid rubber hose) Also is the diameter 3/4 “ or less
Yes, this is a 100% rubber hose, built for durability and flexibility. The inside diameter is a true 3/4 in., making it ideal for high water flow applications.
