Our products aren't designed to be submerged in water or have constant contact with it, as this can cause the coating to break down and not perform as expected. Hi Cindy, thanks for your question. The metal surface should be in sound condition, free of any loose coating or substrate, and clean before coating. We recommend scuff sanding the metal with 150-grit sandpaper for maximum adhesion. You can also use a separate primer, like our Multi-Surface Primer (No. 436) on bare metal before spraying to encourage adhesion. I hope this helps! -Adelina

Try looking at Rustoleum paints. You can get them in qt. Size. They do have a bronze.

Please note that this product should only be used indoors in cases where you can open windows and/or doors to create cross ventilation. Not metallic gold

If you want a crappy, fugly, minimal shine, BROWN/-gold spray paint get this. If you want actual/true, shiny, yellow gold, then get the Rust-oleum Metallic one. It also has poor adhesion/coverage. The Rust-oleum one is way better in those regards too - plus it's even cheaper. Wasted $11+ for nothing.

Comes Right Off

Even after DAYS of drying, the paint comes off with any amount of pressure. The color was also a lot darker than advertised on the cap.

I really liked this product! I was using it to paint some decorative vent covers for my hearth (the fireplace does NOT get used - I'm sure if it was for a working fireplace you might need more special paint for hot surfaces). The product was great in that it was easy to use & gives a beautiful bronze finish. Would highly recommend!

Perfect shade. Realistic and subdued

I bought this to repaint my furniture pulls on the dresser that I refinished. I had previously tried a metallic bronze color and that was way too gold. Yuck. I found the Behr antique brass metallic spray. The satin finish and the color was absolutely perfect. Love it. After painting the hardware I added Rub n Buff to the raised areas. In the photo the painted pull is in the top and the highlighted one is below.

Great finish and not super bright color

I picked up this Antique Brass Satin Metallic Spray Paint for a furniture refinishing project where I wanted to update some older brass corner brackets to better match a set of toasted champagne handles. Finding a metallic finish that isn’t overly bright or yellow can be difficult, but this color ended up being exactly what I was hoping for. The paint sprayed very evenly from the first pass with no sputtering or uneven coverage. The nozzle produced a consistent spray pattern, making it easy to get a smooth finish even on smaller pieces with a lot of edges and detail. I applied a couple of light coats, and the coverage built up quickly without any noticeable runs or drips. It also adhered very well to properly prepped metal surfaces, so I didn’t have any issues with the paint pulling away or looking patchy. One thing worth mentioning is that the finish changes slightly as it cures. Right after spraying, the paint has a brighter, more glittery metallic appearance. At first I was worried it would be a little too flashy for my project. However, once it fully dried, it settled into a much more refined satin finish with a softer luster. That subtle change ended up being exactly what I wanted because it looks much more like real aged brass rather than a freshly painted metallic surface. The durability has also been impressive so far. After allowing it to fully cure, the finish feels solid and has held up well during assembly without scratching as easily as I expected. Overall, I would definitely recommend this spray paint if you’re looking to refresh hardware, brackets, light fixtures, or other metal accents. The color is tasteful, the application is easy, and the final satin sheen gives projects a high-end, professional appearance without looking overly shiny or artificial. I would absolutely use it again for future furniture restoration projects.

This paint is the best. I bought a cheap end table from Wayfair and I used this paint to improve it's looks. It worked out so well that I decided to try it on my vintage heating supply registers. It worked perfectly. Great results. Gave a nice bronze look. See attached pictures

For years I have used Bertha Extrusion medium bronze touch up spray paint for the anodized bronze aluminum for my porch windows, screen frame amd door. Well, from now on I am using Behr Oil Rubbed Bronze. The color was a better match; the finish was smoother, the application was easier, there were no problems with runs or sags, and the nozzle never clogged on me. I was hesitant at first to try it but the Behr paint representative was in the store at the time so I purchased a can. The best thing I did as far as spray paint in Many years! I highly recommend the Behr product over the older supplier Bertha. See before and after pics using the Behr product.
