The mounting frame has full size J-box with six 1/2" and one 3/4" knock-outs. The 18" flexible metal pigtail coming out of the frame's J-box has plug-in quick connector and a push-in cable clamp for easy wiring to the downlight. The adjustable hanger bars with captive nails penetrates standard and engineered wood joist. I am asking the same question, and I am an EC in California. Why do you have a ground pigtail in your fixture connection box and you supply the MC cable without a ground wire and only the two-wire (black and white #18 awg ) . Manufacturer should answer.
Thanks for your question. The grounding path for this fixture is achieved through the metal spring retainers making contact with the new construction mounting frame, which provides earth continuity. Where should the ground from the downlight connect to? Do i have to run a pigtail from the Jbox?
