Its evergreen foliage makes it a year round favorite while the reliable late mid to late summer blooms never fail to excite. Their petite six petaled flower is sometimes faintly brushed with pink at the base.
  • Hardy in zones 7 - 10, they appreciate the shallow depth of water along the edge of your pond and will respond reliably to late summer rain showers with bright white flowers
  • White rain lily is very versatile with location as it can take full sun to part shade, some shade is nice in the hotter climates, also easily divided in the late fall which allows for naturalizing areas outside of the pond, as well
  • Contrary to some beliefs, these rain lilies are great bog plants when raised as such, when grown as nursery stock, like many other plants, the transition is not always successful
  • Bog plant already potted in aquatic soil, grown in aquatic conditions with an established root system makes for an easy transition into your pond and greatly reduces the risk of failure, enjoy

Can this be planted in just the garden and not near a pond or bog? If so are there any special conditions or just plant right into the ground? Thank you, Darcy from Savannah
Asked by: DOC
Hi Darcy! The White Rain Lily is not just for planting in a pond or bog. We have had seeds from this plant wash into one of our goat pastures and the plants have been perfectly happy. The do love a moist condition and these "volunteers" bloom reliably the day, or so after a rain. They will do just fine in your garden, especially in a place that is moist.

How long can the white rain lily live in the pot that it's already planted and shipped in?

Asked by: Lily
Hi Lily, The White Rain Lily will be fine in the 4 inch pot it is grown and planted in for the first year. You should have ample growth by the end of the season to divide it and make a new start of this plant. By the second year this plant will have filled up the original 4 inch pot and be ready for dividing.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Elegant, nice sized flowers I love these flowers. Ive planted them in the ground and they transferred just fine. I have two clusters and they are starting to bloom more heavily now. Will be purchasing more for my front flowerbed.
