Mcce, yes, this post cap can be painted. It is important to ensure that the post cap is fully dry before painting to achieve the best results. To determine if it's time to paint, perform a water test by drizzling water onto the wood. If the water beads, the wood is still wet. However, if the water is quickly absorbed into the wood, it's ready to paint. Be sure to test multiple areas of the surface to ensure proper coverage.
Cathy, we have reached out to our product development team regarding this question. Once we hear back, we will update this response.
Larry, The screw is embedded into the post cap, for that reason it would not be able to be easy removed.
MDRS, This screw is embedded at the bottom of this finial, by attempting to change out with a longer screw, may increase the chances of it cracking.
Finial, Yes, this is completely round.
No actually it’s more oblong
yes
OneA, Yes, the finial base can be purchased seperately.
John, The finial in the product picture that has a screw in the bottom, is made from a single piece of wood.
Maybe. It depends on how big around your sofa's legs are. The screw in the finial is probably about 1/4 inch in diameter. You would have to be able to to drill a hole straight into the sofa's leg. Might work if your sofa's legs are short and large around and not attached to your sofa at an angle. If legs are only 1 or 2 inches in diameter, it might break the sofa's leg while you are trying to attach it, or could make the sofa too unsteady to sit on. Might also damage and break your sofa leg over time. Not sure I would recommend it.
