A:  Depending on how big your anvil I'd say yes I used 10 as the posts for a deck that i built for my Mom on the back of her house. The deck dimensions are 16'x 36'with a roof over the entire length. It has been finished for a year and a half no sagging or warping with any of the 10 I would recommend, you don't leave them laying on the ground. As they will absorb whatever moisture is there and that's when you'll run into twisting and warping issues. Good Luck Rob

              Straight, not warped or twisted. The wood was really wet though. I it cut into short pieces for my project, so I'm not too worried about twisting as they dry. If I was going for something structural, I'd probably go for the kiln dried stuff.
