A:  I would guess kiln dried. I just used these to replace porch columns and they are light in weight, and no sap.

A:  Still green, I have finished my raised flowerbed and as it dries, sap is coming out and natural cracks are forming.

I had to sort through the stack to find a suitable 4 x 6. Many were split and would not work well as a support for my carport. I did, eventually, find a timber I was satisfied with. It was split but not to a point to where the integrity might be in question. The 4 x 4 you see to the right of the photo will be sued for another support. The supports, fencing and gate in the background came from Home Depot. All of the paint was also purchased at Home Depot. I guess you can say Home Depot is refurbishing my carport. I hope I win the gift certificate. I am on Social Security and money is very tight for repairs.

All the wood, a brand new bundle, was extremely molding and soaking wet. The employee I asked was the most an employee has ever helped at a home depot but the product was garbage.
