I have used their cutting service several times at my Home Depot without a hitch. The key is to find the right person for the job.

can this product be stapled down with 1/4" x 1 1/2" staples or is it too dense?

I used 1 1/2" nails in my nail gun and they worked fine. I would think staples would work equally as well.

Is the thickness .609 or .625? There are two different measurements provided.

What can you say about particle board. It is what it is. Worked well for my project. After digging through the first couple of sheets at the store (they were all damaged), the two boards I purchased were perfect. Customer service was Excellent! The young man moving carts saw that I was trying to load these into my SUV by myself and offered to help.

This worked perfectly to match up to an existing subfloor in an addition I am doing on a home built in the ‘70’s. The locally owned lumber yards near me do not carry this size so I opted to buy from Home Depot. It was a good experience.

Works great
Out of several sheets the quality was consistent. Being particle board, the edges require a lot of filling before paint, it absorbs moisture quickly so paint and glue dry fast. They use a blue paint on a small area of the edges that bled through 4 layers of paint. The only thing that stopped it bleeding through my white paint was 2-3 coats of Killz primer and then painting (I wasn’t aware of this beforehand). But as long as you keep those little stripes on the edges away from sight or use primer it’s not an issue. Overall a good product in my experience.

I would never use the “old” particle board for anything. I needed some inexpensive underlayment for plastic laminate, and this worked perfectly. I will use much of this material in the future. I am not an employee of Home Depot or the manufacturer, and assure you my opinion is based upon use.
