I used 1 1/2" nails in my nail gun and they worked fine. I would think staples would work equally as well.

What can you say about particle board. It is what it is. Worked well for my project. After digging through the first couple of sheets at the store (they were all damaged), the two boards I purchased were perfect. Customer service was Excellent! The young man moving carts saw that I was trying to load these into my SUV by myself and offered to help.

Dimensions on website not accurate
This product measures 49" x 97". I needed true 48"x 96" and manufactured edges for my project. I did not want to free cut 1 inch off of two sides on 4 panels and trust that I could get it as clean as from the manufacturer. Did not know until after I purchased, loaded, unloaded and went to use. So back to the store they went (HD will not make cuts small than 12"). Perhaps you don't care and that extra 1 inch provides some measure of edge protection during transport. If it is important to you, Menard's has true size product.

This worked perfectly to match up to an existing subfloor in an addition I am doing on a home built in the ‘70’s. The locally owned lumber yards near me do not carry this size so I opted to buy from Home Depot. It was a good experience.
