I installed this fan approximately 2 years ago and it has done a great job in the room with our walk-in shower. Now, after removing the cover and painting, I cannot find the lens for the light. I think it may have gotten thrown out with the trash. I'm judging by the picture and housing size, but the specifications do not give the lens size. The lens I need is 7 inches by 8 inches. Can I purchase just the lens? If so, how?
Asked by: Paul
remove the remaining plastic cover. Look for a make and model number on the metal housing. Order the entire new fan. Use the new cover for your old fan and save the motor from the new unit as a back up.

try to find one with the same size cut-out and is designed to install from the inside. The wiring is there and sometimes the exhaust tub is there. Getting up in the attic is not fun.

my 20 years old 678 fan /light will a new one fit in to the same hole?

can not tell the size of the one you are selling
Asked by: george
The housing is the same size, however I don't think you can replace the housing without making the hole in the ceiling bigger, because you can't get at the old or new mounting tabs on the housing without making the hole bigger...and then you've got some patching to do. You can replace some or all of the components, such as the motor, light reflector, grill and lens....everything but the sheet metal housing pieces. The internal mounting holes are all the same.

50 CFM Ceiling Exhaust Bath Fan with Light is rated 4.1 out of 5 by 88.
Rated 1 out of 5 by from No I bought in 2016 and I am reviewing this in 2018 so I have had plenty of time to form an accurate opinion. When you turn on fan it seems fine but a couple minutes in to it the fan noise changes to this shrieking awful noise. It's hooked up right and nothing is in it.... but it is awful. I have this installed in a small bathroom that is basically the size of shower, toilet and sink with small walk area so this should have been able to handle it. No. Not only does it not have the power to exhaust properly I now have mold on ceiling from moisture. I had a contractor hook up fan and it is vented properly..... the fan is just weak and cheap. That awful fan runs throughout shower and up to 2 hours after trying to exhaust the bathroom. I do not recommend this fan at all. In fact I bought it for $25 and i see that the price went..... avoid this fan.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good For The Price It's hard to find a fan and light with a small footprint at a reasonable price. We installed two of them about four years ago and now are replacing them with identical units. Both fans still worked, but were making horrendously loud noise. When new these fans are very quiet. We use both bathrooms a lot and fans run for periods of time, so I would say life expectancy was okay. Replacing old fans with identical new ones means no additional stress for installation (no recutting ceiling, no repainting, etc.). Because the price was so reasonable, I am not unduly upset about how long they lasted before making what we considered unacceptable noise levels.

When I purchased my house, this model of fan was installed in the master bathroom. It did a fine job moving air, but over the last 4 years it was getting louder and louder, with a lot of rattling noises. I decided to go ahead and replace everything except the metal housing with a newer fan of the same model. When I first put installed it, it was running smoothly and much quieter than before. But within a week, the extra buzzing and rattling sounds have come back. It still works, but I'm frustrated the new unit deteriorated so quickly.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Cheaper than buying replacement parts! I was thinking about repairing my existing Broan bath exhaust fan and light, but just the fan motor and the lens for the light cost more than the entire newer model shipped to my door!Received the item very quickly and I couldn't be more pleased with my purchase. The new fan also fit the existing hole in the ceiling for my old exhaust fan perfectly, which made the installation very quick and very easy. This was a plus because all other ceiling fans were about 4 inches larger which would have required more work.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fan works well This fan replaced a builder grade fan in the bathroom. It is nice to have a brighter light than previously, especially since the ceiling is very high. The noise level is similar to the previous one, a bit noisy, but the commode area is rather small and with the high ceilings it's like a tunnel, so the sound of the fan echoes due to the logistics of the room. It was easy to replace the old fan with the new one as we did not need to replace the metal box that was nailed into the joists. The old mechanical workings were removed and the new workings were easily installed. Though there is an outer metal box that housed the new mechanical workings, we did not use it, for ease of installation. Overall, the fan works much better and the illumination is much greater than the previous one we had in there.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Affordable and Long Lasting! This is a great fan/light combo. We have 2 bathrooms in our home and they are polar opposites. One is a small 4x6 hallway bathroom and the other is a very large 10x12 master bathroom. We have this fan in both bathrooms, and for the last 4 years it has been on almost everyday and it is still looking AND working as good as the day it was installed.
