Asked by customer February 14, 2021I don't know – I've never tried it in that application. The pellets are round, so if your roof slopes, the pellets may not stay in place long enough to do any good.

Is this good to melt ice on roof and gutters
Asked by Jane February 5, 2021Recommend the nylon sock trick that is on the PBS show. Tom S. showed it a number a years ago and I have seen at least youtube videos covering the topic. Go to a dollar store and buy some knee highs, fill with the melt and place them perpendicular to the gutter to make channels for water to flow. Also can lay the sock in the gutter as well if below the roof line.
