This is what I expect from pier blocks: Durability. For me to observe that, that would take years, but Home Depot is asking for a review within weeks of my purchase. My application is a base for a shed. Starting with 5 stars, I must reveal an ugly truth: Chips.
In the process of my selection, I wanted to avoid blocks with chips. I couldn't find any without chips. Down by one star. I only wanted to get 6 blocks although the instructions for my shed indicate 12 (or a large deck). Since I don't have a lot of time or equipment to fool around with leveling, I settled for 6. My only wish after that was to get them home without chipping them further. I was careful - no more chips.
Were they easy to level? It was up to my shed base and the leveling equipment. It was easy enough. Everything is square and level enough as you see from the pics. The wood pegs hold the screws solid. I added copper green to further protect the wood. I'm sure that the blocks will stay through a CA earthquake or hurricane.
