Is it safe to breath any particles from this product?

Asked by Rs123 April 18, 2020
1
Answer

This is a fabric for insulating walls of homes. it is secured to the wall and fiberglass is pumped behind it for a quiet comfortable home. It allows air to pass, for better insulation packing. It helps keep dust to a minimum during the wall blow application because it helps contain the fiberglass particles. A mask should still be worn during the wall blow process.

What is the pore size of this fabric? It is not listed in the specs.

Asked by Kext April 9, 2020
1
Answer

I cannot find any information concerning the pore size contained in our spec sheets. The pore is the bond pattern point on the material. What I do have is the Frazier perm information which measures the amount of cubic feet per minute of air that flows into and out of the material. The CFM/ft for the Insuloc is approximately 226 and the nominal micron rating is 30. Nominal micron is the size of particle that if the Insuloc would filter out of a coolant/liquid. I hope this helps.

Hi, this is installed to the wall cavity on the front of the studs with staples. The staples should be horizontally installed every 2" from the top of the stud to the base of the stud. This product cannot be reused, it stays in place as the drywall is installed. Install drywall over this product.

Can I use this to cover exposed fiberglass insulation on my basement ceiling?

Asked by Kim March 17, 2019

Answer

You are correct, this would help contain dust particles from the insulation - the product has a flame spread index of 0 and smoke development index of 30. You will need to check with local codes to see if you can use the fabric in the basement ceiling.
