Tap water is fine
The Essick reply team didn't read or understand their own Use and Care manual which has a link on this Home Depot page. The unit runs on 40 WATTS (NOT 120 watts as Essick stated), 120 VOLTS, which is 1/3 AMP (40/120) to operate - with such minimal power draw it can run on any household receptacle. The manual is the only place this information is provided - there is no ETL or UL label visible on the unit itself (I doubled check mine). Hope this helps.
Maybe the placement where you have the humidifier? Sometimes putting in front of a air return will make them run longer and not accurately. Or a bad humidity sensor. Mine does not do this.
Depends on how much noise you can tolerate when you sleep. This unit is rather quiet on speed 2, but may still keep you awake if you require total silence. I prefer this type of unit to the cool mist humidifiers that while quiet, they spray water into the air and leave a fine white power on everything in the room. They also have to be cleaned almost daily as they can harbor bacteria. This unit is much easier to maintain. But again, it depends on how quiet you need it to be. Hello, Louise! Many of our humidifiers and wick/filter frames are made of one of the most widely used plastics in small appliances: Polystyrene. The process to create polystyrene uses the chemical compound benzene. Benzene is known to the state of California to cause cancer, birth defects, or reproductive harm. The state of California requires that consumers be made aware of the presence of this chemical, as well as more than 900 others, under Proposition 65. If you have any other questions, please visit the Prop 65 site. Link here: >https://www.p65warnings.ca.gov/
easy, but it wont last that long.
yes
3-4 days on medium. thats why I bought it. Unfortunately it has other issues and dont waste your money.
Check your filters....you may need to replace them. Hard water build-up can reduce moisture.
Have you changed out the filters? If the filters are plugged it won't work as well.
