Easy to install.
What impressed me most about these logs was the ease of installation. Also, the starter switch is very convenient. The only reason for my 4 star review is the unknown longevity of the logs or system parts. Otherwise, I highly recommend this kit.

These logs look great and the fire is fantastic! I can’t speak to the installation because we had it professionally done, but the overall aesthetic is just right. I have always preferred a wood burning fire, but no regrets with this purchase!

No more ashes or wood debris, and my days of chopping kindling are over! I had this sent to my home as they are not in stock at any local stores. It was delivered in two boxes. The log set was very easy to install. I had to get a longer flex-line for the gas supply as mine enters the fire box from the left side. The instructions are a bit lacking, but there are some great videos on the net showing the step by step process and the results were great. The push button start makes it so easy to use. And it looks quite real with all the "embers" and flames. I had to get some additional lava rock to cover the gas supply line and the floor of the hearth. I did that after the attached picture was taken.

I really like these logs. We have been doing traditional wood fires but were sick of the "day after" smell in the house, so we switched to these gas logs. The attention to detail on the logs is excellent and really looks realistic. They include a bag of "charcoal" and "ashes" that you sprinkle around the base to hide the burner and simulate previous fires - and it's pretty convincing. I do wish there was some sort of "hot embers" or red charcoal pieces to give it just a little more realism. The igniter and pilot switch are easy to find and use when you want to start things up, and the igniter is hidden as a small log. I think I probably should have gotten one size larger, our fireplace is 32" across the inside and a 24" log set may have filled the space better - but the 18" doesn't look bad, just looks like a smaller fire instead of a big roaring bonfire. Please note that these are VENTED gas logs, you need to have a flue and it needs to be open!

What I really like about this gas log set is the detail that has gone into each of the logs. They are hand painted and even though they are meant only to be seen from the front and top, they are detailed and painted on all sides.
This is a manual safety pilot kit, which means the pilot light is always on and you operate an on and off switch, which is cleverly disguised as a log. According to American Gas helpful tech support staff a remote switch will cost about $180.
Except for the gas line which is included all the connections have been made and properly sealed against leakage. All materials and parts needed for a professional to install are included. They included sand for use with natural gas and volcanic stones as embers. Min fireplace size for this unit is 28w x 16h x 14d. As the kit is delivered it is meant only for an existing fire place that vents to the outside. This is not for use in non-vented fire places.
If ordering this set, take advantage of the free shipping, otherwise you will have to haul two boxes weighing over 30 pounds each.
Quality American made product that will make winters a little less cold.

Wonderful fireplace. It was pretty easy to put together right out of the box. The instructions were also pretty easy. Just make sure you get the right size and have good ventilation out of your chimney. The logs look pretty nice for being artificial. It turns on and off easily and helps keep the room warm without overpowering our HVAC system. It was pretty expensive but worth the cost, I hope it

This log set is Awesome. Having purchased and returned other sets, from other manufactures, from HD, we could not be happier with this set. Easy to install, quiet, realistic flames and logs, great heat output and the electric start is so cool.
