About This Product

This 20 in. Big Blue (BB) whole house carbon filtration system is uniquely designed to meet all of your large capacity water purification needs, including for high-flow applications. The activated carbon filter cartridge is designed to effectively remove chlorine, taste, odour and organic compounds to deliver clean, filtered water to every water outlet. Suitable for simple whole house filtration, light commercial use or industrial applications. The included carbon filter is rated to 25 microns and is able to treat up to 100,000 Gal. of water at a very fast flow rate. Its unique radial flow design offers the benefits of Granular Activated Carbon (GAC) filtration such as low pressure drops, while at the same time eliminating the release of carbon fines commonly associated with GAC type cartridges. The 20 in. Big Blue filter housing is constructed of durable reinforced polypropylene and can operate effectively under a wide range of water conditions for different applications. The certified filter and housing is equipped with 1 in. FPT inlet and outlet ports for large volume and fast water flow. Housing wrench and bracket is also included for a complete whole house carbon filter system that provides chemical-free water delivered throughout all your faucets.

Q:What is the specific reason for the prop 65 warning, does it contain an actually dangerous material or one that isn?t so bad?
by|Feb 6, 2023
1 Answer
Answer This Question

A:  Dear Valued Customer, Thank you very much for your inquiry and we do understand your concern. In 1986, California passed proposition 65 which has very stringent guidelines. This proposition mandates that products, packaging, and places that may contain certain chemicals, even in minuscule amounts, must display this label notice. For this reason, the majority of products that are sold in the state of California are required to display this warning including big box stores, restaurants, fast food chains, offices, even schools and many other establishments. Proposition 65 labeling does not necessarily mean a product is in violation of any product safety standards or requirements. Please rest assured that all of our water purification systems are US built using premium food grade certified filters and system components for over 20 years so it is completely safe for drinking water. Regards, APEC Customer Service

Q:I have county water smells like creek water and chlorine. What system and what filter. For 3-4 people , house hold.
    by|Feb 16, 2021
    1 Answer
    Answer This Question

A:  This system is designed to remove chlorine, pharmaceuticals, pesticides, vocs, taste, odor etc from the water. This filter should help but we would also recommend finding out from the county what is causing that smell to see what can be done to reduce or remove it. If you need further assistance, feel free to contact us directly by calling 1-800-880-4808 or e-mailing us at info@apecwater.com. We are in the office from Monday-Friday from 8:00am-5:30pm PST. Q:hello can this be hooked up to the bathtub water to clean out the chlorine smell and brownish water that we get from time to time?
        by|May 31, 2019
        1 Answer
        Answer This Question

A:  Hello, this filter is designed to connect to 1" pipes in and out, typically at the point of entry into the home. It will help remove the chlorine, including the chlorine from the bathtub. It may not help with brown water, depending on what it is that is causing it. If you need any help or assistance, feel free to contact us directly by calling 1-800-880-4808 or e-mailing us at info@apecwater.com. We are in the office from Monday-Friday from 8:00am-5:30pm PST. Quality Made and Easy To Install
I purchased this filter to save my hot water heater from collecting sediment and debris which shortens the life of the heater. Installation was easy enough using Sharkbite connectors and shut-off valves. I'm not a plumber, but it's up and running with no leaks. (knock on wood)

          Simple
Purchase this to help the life of my water softener. Install, easy. The only issue I have is the mounting of the gasket. Doesn't lay well in the groove of the filter housing. Need to be very careful when installing the filter into the cap. You don't want the gasket to pinch when screwing it into the cap/mount. Buy another gasket "just in case!"

A Step up from the 10” Half the changes.
I started with the 10” filter and changed the filters 4 times a year. Now I upgraded to the 20”, now I change it just twice a year.

I've seen the insides of the lines that supply city water to the houses here. Doesn't matter what kind of piping you have insi the home, without a whole house filter all your appliances and fixtures are dealing with some varying levels of contaminants not to mention you wash, drink and cook with it.
