    Is this outdoor rated
    ByJul 24, 2026
    1 Answer |
    Answer This Question

We do not recommend installing our water softener outdoors. The control valve is not designed to be weatherproof, and prolonged exposure to rain, direct sunlight, freezing temperatures, or extreme heat can damage the electronic components and shorten the system's lifespan. If an outdoor installation is your only option, we recommend placing the system inside a weatherproof enclosure or shed to protect it from the elements while still allowing access for maintenance and adding salt.

Many high-end softeners have a salt grid (brine grid) in the brine tank, to lessen the chance of salt bridging. Does this unit have one? If not, can one be purchased for it?
        ByJul 17, 2026
        1 Answer |
        Answer This Question

Our brine tank comes standard with a grid plate to help reduce the likelihood of salt bridging. It also features a brine well with a mesh bottom that helps prevent larger debris from entering the brine line and reaching the control valve, providing added protection for the system.

With proper maintenance and regular regeneration, the resin should last 10 years or more under normal operating conditions.

Is a 32000 grain Aquasure softener sufficient for a 2 bedroom condo?
            ByJun 24, 2026
            1 Answer |
            Answer This Question

Yes, a 32,000-grain water softener should be more than sufficient for a typical 2-bedroom condo. The exact size recommendation depends on factors such as the number of people in the home and the hardness of your water, but for most 2-bedroom condos, a 32,000-grain system provides plenty of capacity.

              Done with Home Depot!
I purchased this softener system with the sharkbite hoses to connect. Paid plumber to install. Order was delivered without one of the hoses, so I needed to re-schedule install till the other hose arrived. The plumber got everything set up, new plumbing pipes etc. and come to find out the cap to the resin tank was cross threaded on and would not budge. Manufacturer screw up!! We could not attach the valve head to the tank to finish install if we cant get the cap off. Multiple men tried with various tools to get the cap "un-screwed" the only part to hold on to for leverage eventully broke off. I called customer service who's only solution was to return it. I am supposed to disconnect everything and try to move 200lbs of salt, water, and equipment out of the basement and off to Home Depot???? Physically impossible for me. As I was on hold for a better resolution the agent was..."disconnected". I am done with Home Depot. It has been one disapointment after another. THis one REALLY sucks!! I have no idea what to do other than call Culligan. $600.+ waste of money plus all the installation time!

It works well, but we need to talk about the poor bypass and yoke design
I bought this on a Black Friday deal and it seems to be good value for the money I paid. Setup was easy and, since it's way oversized for my usage, I don't expect it to regenerate very often, which is nice. However, installation was a total pain due to limited space and the poor design of the bypass valves and yoke. 1. Once you get swivels and elbows installed, good luck getting it anywhere near the wall the assembly sticks out so far. I had to remove the bypass valves and build my own setup. 2. I don't know why the yoke is 1" when the couplings between it and the bypass valves restrict flow almost down to 1/2". Also, the 1" yoke makes it impossible to get 90-degree swivels. The valves and yoke are well built compared to some other brands, but the design needs completely re-engineered. Yes, most other brands use the same poor setup, but a company should strive to do better than its competitors.

Installation was straightforward, and the unit is compact enough to fit neatly in our utility space. The system runs quietly and regenerates efficiently without disrupting daily water use. Salt usage has been reasonable, and maintenance has been minimal so far.

It Arrived Intact, with clear instructions on how to install, which I did without the need for a professional plumber. What I liked more than my previous Softer is the Sedment filter shipped with it, and the programable count down of remaining Gallons. What I think it was lacking/a step down in design, was the quick disconnect feature between the Bypass and the resin tank.

Been fighting iron bacteria for years. A lot of money spent. So it’s doing an awesome job at a low cost.

                  Easy install, poor softening
I purchased my 64000gr fine mesh in October. I’ve had smaller capacity softeners on my well water 20 years that worked great. I decided to get a larger cap. unit due to old unit wore out and I’m 72 yo . Install was a snap, directions were clear. Softener has not made soft water yet. Contacted Customer Support and got a list of things to go over like brine level, brine draw to clean, discharge flow, back wash, brine refill. All were verified working. Now I purchased a hardness tester for $45, that’s somewhere in the USPS system to check hardness from well before unit and then hardness at master bathroom (hot n cold). To verify the fine mesh media is doing its job or not. I believe with everything else doing what it should the media is the last on the list. I will update next week.

Super straight forward install. I used brass pex crimp fittings, but shark bites would work for those without crimpers. Unit seems to be working as it should and is providing soft and clean water. Definitely saved thousands going this route over having one installed! Would definitely go this route again!

I'm finally using soft water too.
I was renting and then bought a new house and installed this. I installed it myself, so the pipes look a bit shabby. But it works well. I worked on it after work, taking three days.
