      Q:Can you use on exterior.

      Answer This Question

A:  No. This type of shiplap may check and warp unacceptably in exterior applications due to the thinness of the lip groove. There are other exterior wood siding profiles that are rated for exterior use, such as tongue & groove siding or Hardy Board plank siding.that will give the same look: https://www.homedepot.com/p/James-Hardie-HardiePlank-HZ10-5-16-in-x-8-25-in-x-144-in-Fiber-Cement-Primed-Cedarmill-Lap-Siding-215572/100064049 5.00 MHz Plus 0 FM FTWRTH

A:  Seems, you'd just 45° cut the end. You could do the same in the corners or is a piece of molding

              Never Again! Cupped, Twisted, Bowed
Never Again!! I’ve been around finish carpentry and construction my whole life so not a tale of a DIY’er. Cupping results in the boards being different widths so corner joints don’t align had to hand plane to get every row to align. no matter how square your cuts are the corners look like crap because the cup now makes a gap top and bottom The Bowing changed the gap, used decking tool to force flat and nail. finger joints separated when cutting on the miter saw.

Looks great! Exactly what we needed for a feature wall in our master bath. Tongue and groove assembly creates perfectly level nickel gap. I used a couple extra pieces and ripped them down to 1 1/2” to create a border. Would highly recommend for the weekend DIYer.

                    All boards cupped
Hello. I installed these boards as a ceiling. I cut them to length and primed and painted the ends before install. During the install i put a bead of liquid nail on the backside and used 3 finish nails per stud (16”)I filled the nail holes with wood filler, sanded the holes, and painted the ceiling. Fast forward six months and 75% of tbe boards have cupped and looks terrible. Im sick to my stomach at all the time effort and money I put into this. I hope I win the $1,000 to offset the cost of replacing all these boards. Any chance I can get my money back?
