Kicked the can after a few months use!
I had faith in this product with the initial purchase. Come to find out I threw my money out of the window with it. It did not even make it through one year.

    Unreliable product
I have had this product for close to a year in that time I have delt with constant drop outs of my net work. I have had my service provider out twice checking all lines and connections in my house as well as out side my house all were good minus a cable end which was replaced. On average I will suffer thru 3-4 drops a day each time ill reset the modem and back up and running for a while. When the modem works its good but being I work from home and rely on my network the constant drop outs are just unacceptable. Thankfully I bought a protection policy on this so ill be swapping it out and most likely not for the same product as this was my first Arris product and not happy with its performance.

      Won't update it's firmware
I just got this a couple of a days ago, got it all connected, activated, and now it won't update itself to docsis 3.1

      Rock solid!
I still don't know why cable providers continue to give customers junk cable modems. The cable modem they provided would constantly cut out when getting close to 940mb download speeds. I swapped it out for the SB8200 and it has been rock solid! No issues and fast speeds. I have also had their SB6190 before, which was also super solid. You really cannot go wrong with ARRIS modems. The only thing to watch for, is that this modem does run a little warmer than prior generations; so keep it in a well ventilated area.

        Excellent High Speed Docsis Modem
This is a amazing modem. I wasn't sure, when I first start looking into it, but more I learned about the Doc 3.1 more I came to appreciate this modem. Easy to setup, and active. Took less than a half and hour to get it all setup and working with my router. Checking the Speedtest, this modem is faster than the Netgear CM1000 in downloads and uploads.

          Need more information
I bought the SB8200 because Mediacom is upgrading their basic service and I need a DOCSIS 3.1 modem. Modem activation was not automatic, but Mediacom activated the modem over the phone. The only issue I have is, can I wall mount the SB8200? I owned a SB6141, and it had a template in the manual to locate screws for wall mounting. The SB8200 has a similar case, but there's no information in the manual or anywhere about wall mounting. I've read that the SB8200 can run hot, so I'm concerned about airflow. Can I mount my SB8200 to the wall? Apparently, no one will say.

            So Far So Good
Modem with Docsis 3.1. Has what I want and still works. Have it hooked up with a UniFi network, works as expected. No issues during installation, well not ones that were caused by the modem anyway.

              Sub Par
Why? No capability to turn off front panel LEDs and no capability to set a user password for the device.

                Drop Outs
I purchased the SB8200 on the recommendation by my ISP. Even though I am on a 100 Mbs plan they suggested the SB8200 for future upgrade. I connected the modem with my ORBI router and I've been experiencing random dropouts that require manually resetting of the modem 4x-6x/day. The ISP confirmed the dropouts and connected an Arris CM820A to see if performance improved and this seemed to resolve the problem. I've read reviews on other websites and noticed that other users of the CM8200 have experienced similar issues.

                  Must Reboot Twice A Day
Garbage modem. Great for 6-8 hours a day, then you have to reboot. I have 175 Xfinity performance plus up to 175 Mbps service and after a reboot of this modem I typically average 120 Mbps for the next 5-6 hours and then it drops to 5-7 again. Utterly ridiculous and unacceptable
