What’s the difference between level 1 charging and level 2 charging? I have a Tesla so will level 2 charge it faster?

Asked by Hank September 18, 2020
1
Answer

Level 2 Charging is up to 3 times faster than Level 1 charging with this AxFAST 16A charger. Charging at level 1 is done at 12AMP/120V on a standard grounded outlet while charging at level 2 is done at 16AMP/240V with the included 240V adapters. Using 240 volt Level 2 charging reduces the amount of time needed for charging your Tesla.

Hello; Can I charge a tesla battery with this charger. I have a Mercedes 250B electric, 16V 240amp.

Answer

The AxFAST 16Amp Level 2 Portable Electric Vehicle Charger will charge a Tesla but will require a J1772 adapter, available from Tesla since Tesla vehicles use a proprietary charging connection. The Mercedes 250B appears to have a 16AMP charging capability but it is recommended that you check the owner's manual for it's exact charging specifications.
