A:  That's what I bought it for. Barrier to keep tunneling critters out of raised garden beds. Can't say how it's holding up, with it it being underground and all, but there is no reason why it shouldn't last a long, long time. It's made the same way galvanized water pipes are, and those last decades underground.

    A:  I have some in ground _contact_ for several years without any problem. It is galvanized so it has resistance to rusting. I would expect it to last a couple of years but it will lose strength.

        Made great Crawdad Traps!
        Used an excellent instructional video I found on Youtube by JoeandZachSurvival to build a couple of 24"x9" Crawdad traps out of this 1/2" galvanized hardware cloth and have caught many crawfish up in the Sierra lakes with them. Best baits for me have been fish varieties of cat food - tuna, salmon, etc. Am going to build two more using 1/4" mesh galvanized hardware cloth but with small 1" openings in the cones to use strictly as Minnow traps for fishing live bait for Crappie & Catfish.
