Product Overview

Active Ventilation Products Aura Solar Attic Fan exhausts air continuously by using solar and wind power for optimum ventilation performance. Model ASF-12-C2-BL has a 10-Watt solar panel providing energy to 4 EC fans on sunny days to increase the CFM (cubic feet per minute) of 740 of air flow performance. It is an excellent choice to exhaust attic heat in the summer to reduce hot attic temperatures. It will also exhaust moisture in the winter to keep the attic dry and cool to preserve attic insulation and prevent ice dams. The Aura Solar Attic Fan will produce 310 CFM at 11 mph without the solar powered fans through its patented engineered design with no moving parts. The attic fan is made of durable rust free aluminum and has 5 manufactured components: the vent head, 4 - EC fans, 1 - solar panel, vent collar and square flange. It has a 12 in. Dia throat opening with a 2 in. collar height and a 18 in. x 18 in. square flange. The vent head has three concentric cylinders with slotted vertical louvers. When air moves against the louvers of the outer and middle cylinders it is directed to create a circular airflow. The louvers of the inner cylinder face in the same direction as the air movement created by the outside cylinder. This air movement creates a Venturi effect which produces a vacuum or negative pressure to pull air from within the attic space.
  • No wiring or batteries required, operates on solar energy
  • Does not require electricity to exhaust air from attics spaces
  • Solar panel operates at 12-Volt
  • Solar panel is manufactured tempered glass; rugged design to withstand high wind pressure, hail and snow load; providing exceptional panel rigidity
  • Quiet fan operation; designed to run up to 40,000 life hours per fan
  • Inner vertical louvers will keep insects, birds and squirrels from entering the vent allowing optimal air flow and no maintenance
  • Round aerodynamic design can with stand harsh weather and wind forces of up to 200 mph
  • Vent head has a flat one piece spun cap that prevents rain and snow from entering
  • Pitch capacity range: 3/12 to 12/12
  • Net free air: 113 sq. in. (0.78 sq. ft.)
  • Ventilation rule 1:300: 1 unit per 450 sq. ft. of attic space (maximum up to 750 sq. ft.)
  • Black powder coating finish is significantly greater at resisting scratching, chipping, and oxidation
  • 740 CFM at 0.1 SP
  • Removable vent head for easy access
  • Exhausts air continuously even after the sun sets or on cloudy days
  • Works 24/7, helps to reduce energy costs
  • 5 year warranty

Customer Reviews

740 CFM Black Powder Coated 10-Watt Solar Powered 12 in. Dia. Roof Mounted Attic Exhaust Fan is rated 3.2 out of 5 by 17.
Rated 2 out of 5 by from spend a little more, get a lot more The fan isnt horrible, but after getting it, I have to ask why you wouldnt spend an extra $40 and get something that works a lot better. To start, the solar panel on this is fixed, and cannot be adjusted, so lets hope your roof has a southern slope. Second the thing that really bugs me. Instead of having a wimpy roof vent fan, this has what appears to be 4 computer fans in it. I would say 2 4in fans, and 2 3in fans. I am guessing it meets the air flow it claims, but it just seems like a poor way to do it. Spend the extra money and go up a model or two. I would recommend putting making sure the solar panel can be rotated and the angle can be adjusted.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I wish I had bought 2!! We love this fan...we just had a new roof put on and all of the roofers were ecstatic that they didn't have to mess with any wiring when installing this. They actually pulled an old vent off of my roof and installed it right overtop of the cut-out. The guy that installed it said it kicked on as he was nailing it to the roof!!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Product !! The two fans I purchased lowered the heat in my attic. Making the inside of my home much cooler, resulting in a lower electric bill. I received exactly what I ordered, and the fans were delivered earlier than promised.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Just installed today and was fairly easy. We just installed today and was fairly easy to do. As I was handing to my husband the small fans were already running. It is cloudy today, but they were still running. If they do this well on a cloudy day I am sure they will perform as expected.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Simple design, functional Easy to install, and works in direct sun light. But the fans have no shroud around them making it not as good as it could be,causing the Suction to not be as effective.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Durable mechanical, awful electrical Heavy gauge metal and well built solar panel. Wiring is cheap and out of the box broken. Had to re-do the connector, add some wire extensions and then rebuild the assembly. fans are aluminum wiring of the cheapest gauge one can find. I will be surprised if it makes it the summer. Good thing is the housing and solar panel appear robust so I will just have to buy some new fans and rebuild it again. Don't waste your money on this one.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Average solar fan Fan is ok, seams to draw ok but not great. solar panel moves and rotates but does not seem to want to stay in position easily, falls back to a flat position instead of staying in an angled position for optimal sun exposure.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Lacks power to eject HOT AIR I would have tought this exhaust fan would have done alot better! It use's computor fan's four of them they lack the force power to eject the hot air in the space I put it in. I used it in a 120 sq.ft area this was rated to do 174 cfm, Too late to change it now! I have another one in my shed it's bigger one fan 14" same wattage 11 for the solor panel work fine!
