How can I take off the back cover? The hands have gotten bent, blocking movement
You are not able to remove the cover or back of this clock to reach the hands.
I just bought one of these from the store, but there is no cover for the battery compartment. It has the tabs for the battery cover, but the cover is missing. Should these have a cover for the battery compartment, or is this omission intentional?

can this product be use for out door ( well under the roof )
I have two of these clocks, one in the office and the other in the garage. Living in Las Vegas, the garage clock is subject to extreme temperature variations from 28 degree to 117 degrees. The clock range is -40 degrees to 140 degrees. If the clock were mounted outside away from direct sunlight or wet weather it should function properly.

The thermometer is essentially in a greenhouse created by the front glass. If you can keep it in complete shade it might do OK, but I think even brighter ambient light will cause it to read high.

Does this clock have a weather resistant cover on the back? I bought 2 of these and both did not come with it even though the box says it has one.
No, the back is open, therefore no weather resistant capacilities at all.

No. I bought one at home depot and the batt cover was missing. Went back to HD for an exchange and checked every one on the shelf (4) and they were all missing.

Didn't even pay attention. Could it be they meant the battery cover and not a cover over the entire back. It's rated for outdoor and I have it hanging on a screen porch so, time will tell.
